Hoist Your Colors, Privateer Contest Ahead! August 18 2008

The islands of the Caribbean overflowed this weekend as Basic Access Players enjoyed a Free Preview of Unlimited Access, while Unlimited Access Members took advantage of 50% discounts on all Customization items in the shops.

However, the generous financial reserves of the Pirate "Lords" Garcia de Avaricia and Pierre le Porc have now run dry and it's back to business as usual in the Caribbean ... or so we thought. It seems that as a result of the increased population of Pirates in the Caribbean the battle between the two "Lords" has taken a dramatic turn and there has been a sharp rise in skirmishes between both sides.

The battle for control is now more intense than ever before, and we need your help in fighting for the cause - so join us this coming weekend for the "Hoist Your Colors" Privateering Contest! Im certainly looking forward to this event, decided i wouldnt delay going from 24 to 25 sailing, was just gonna take er easy and gain that last level causually. TO BAD I WASTED THOSE 2 POINTS IN TREASURE SENSE, lol anyway.

Probobly gonna be sailing the war sloop most likely. Ill be looking to fill some spots with a seasoned crew. (preferably rank 5 on your preferred ammo, Thunder shot and higher, rank 5 on rapid reload and firing would be nice too!)

But can anyone tell me for sure that they have or will have that healing on the run glitch fixed for the event? I did some SvS last night and it hadnt been adressed at the time.

not into svs that much. alot of players cant play without cheating O_o. i report every cheating glitch i see and exactly how to do it so disney can fix it. so thats why im not going to "participate"

Whats the cheating glitch? And does the whole crew get to participate for the prizes if they get into the top 100 or just the captain of the ship?

I have had 10 people utsmarted because of this glitch. Not in the way you think.
If it's a glitch what is it and how do I do it?
How is it cheating anyways? I noticed my ships hp go up with the bigger bounty and score.
Now how is it cheating to get more HP when your score and bounty goes up? Disney obviously made it to where your HP went up with your score and bounty so you would have a better chance to survive with so many people after you.
So tell me......which seems more likely?
Lastly.....when you sink a ship your HP goes up a little bit or a lot depending on what bounty it was. So you could be red, sink a ship, then be green.

And yes the 100 prizes are only for the captain. So 100 ships means 100 captains.

thats ot a glitch. there are lots of glitches. but im not going to say them because some guy looking here might use them. really. i hate cheating and i know what it is.

MacIronhawk apparently hasnt been reading all our forums. There are numerous glitchs to cheat with in SvS, auto-repairing, repairing all repair points at once, repair while sailing, invincibility, invisibility on radar, some of our members have come up with means of countermeasures for them, but its too bad it even has to come to that.

does anyone know if this is true? or just how the scoring system will be?

I do not think anyone knows for sure. But since the scoring is per ship, which has a single owner/captain, I dont think it would be possible to credit the crew which could be TP'ing back and forth.

where do you go to see the scores? the potco dxd site has the leaderboard for pvp matches but i can't find the leaderboard for SHIP pvp or SVS as we know it. The official site don't have the scores either...anyone know where ye can view SVS scores?

i think that sounds correct so it seems that only those pirates who have a high level crew will get rewarded...which somehow just doesn't seem right. i mean after all not everyone has a war ship that has access to a high level crew.

and of course the ones who can afford to be on line for 48 straight hours.

So i'm guessing the people with a chance to win will be limited.

I think this contest might be better suited for a guild competition.

I don't think I am going to be to interested in this either. Too many loop-holes in the svs. Though I haven't found the healing cheats much a threat, it really brought in the setting how so many play now. Run in and shoot a ship, and run off all around the entire world. If someone gets near you, dock.

Prizes for who can run off the fastest, use healing cheats best, and stay in the game more than a few minutes with all the tech issues, really doesn't say much IMHO, for a prize. Too bad grape shot wasn't the farthest range canon ball, that would stop some of the running while healing.
