Dagger vrs Sword:
I have both at lvl 5 atm Dagger seems it outdamges Sword alot. Right now I haven`t spent skill points in either yet.

Doese the Sword eventually beat the Dagger dps wise? Just seems like Dagger Melee out doese sword atleast atm.

Currently, I favor the dagger over any of the weapons. Granted I only have Sword, Dagger, Pistol, & Vodoo Doll.

Cutlass has more combo moves which I believe can ultimately be added up for more dps, than the dagger. All skills recharge, require activation, no additional purchases (ammo). However it has no range attacks.

Dagger has fewer combo moves, however it also has range attacks.
The range attacks do involve reloading of ammo, these must be purchased.


I've met pirates of all sorts, some are bound to the Cutlass, some the dagger, I think it comes down to a matter of personal preference and fulfillment.




Depending on what your goal is... its a matter of preference and you'll likely end up building both. If you only PVP bound, then its going to be a matter of preference and experience in that arena.

I do use the dagger (level-19) for fast damage in places where I'm more or less just fighting one foe at a time; however, I see the cutlass (level-17) as always being more useful when I need to fight defensively in higher traffic areas. I can't say that I've broken down all the dps possibilities though; however, I'd at least say that to make Cutlass pan out for that, you'd have to lose most of the passive offerings and/or other skills.

I use them differently, depending on the situation; but, I like dagger more than cutlass personally.

I think cutlass is better overall.
I find dagger harder to use, strangly.

I favor my cutlass over all other weapons, I think I can almost feel the weight of it in my hand by now, lol.

cutlass is better... it has more combos, does alot of damage, and it has fancy tricks

I really have to say that the thing that sets the cutlass and dagger apart is simply bladestorm and thrust. I have both the flourish for cutlass and eviscerate for dagger maxxed and they do about the same damage (250 ~ 500). But bladestorm is simply insanely destructive. Also there is a temptation to max the finesse and blade instinct skill on dagger to increase both the dagger and cutlass damage, so that is like 10 less skill points to spend on dagger. So I would focus on building cutlass for melee and dagger for passives and throws.

Dagger i used to hate it tho at level 32 i was lv 5 in dagger now im 34 and lv 19 in dagger

i have had the dagger for a REALLY long time and am still only lvl 2 with it. that is because i dont use it. i dont really use cutlass, either. but i still prefer cutlass over dagger.

(but my altogether favorite weapon is the voodoo doll.

I personally think the cutlass is better.
My cutlass is level 23 and it is pretty good against high level enemies.
But blade storm and the more combos for the cutlass has got me saying it's better.
The dagger always reminds me of fighting assasins for some reason.
But the dagger comes in handy for other enemies too.
My daggers I think level 18 and I think it works great when fighting undead grenaders.
With all the range attacks. And my favorite thing about the dagger is throwing dirt in peoples faces.(lol)

I feel Cutlass can be better than dagger, but, only in face to face combat, if you have coward enemies that run, I like to use daggers.

Yeah, due to a bug I have not gotten up to using the dagger yet and I am not sure what one I would favor. A definite skill I will master is the one that increases the damage dealt by the dagger and the sword. It comes down to personal preference though.

I prefer Cutlass because there is more combo moves and I am more experienced with it. My lvl on cutlass is 18 and my dagger lvl is 9.
