My Cutlass Needs Training??!! - Pirates of the Caribbean Online Fansite & Forums

OK, I was messing around with the buttons on the side to see what I could do...and when I got to the weapons one, I somehow (kind of accidentally) equipped F1, F2, and F3 all with my pistol. Now my Rusty Cutlass is in red and says it requires training, and it won't equip in any of the slots! (I've been using that fairly competently for a while now...). So now I'm stuck with my stinky little pistol! I went to that training place with the dummies to see if I could get it working there, but no...still couldn't use it. Is this a (frustrating) bug, or am I just being dumb....? Any help? (Yes, I'm reporting it in case it is a bug.) Thanks!

it used to be you could use the cutlass/pistol/voodoo without actually training.

if you have an old pirate like this, don't swap around any of your weapons, or else you won't be able to use them any more.

new pirates shouldn't have any issues.

Hmm...an old pirate? How old? I've only been playing for a few weeks... How do you get the training? Am I forced to start a new pirate? I was like a level 4ish on my cutlass...

It all depends on how you are coping without a cutlass, I have the same issue since version 1.13 ( I started the day before) but I had my cutlass and a doll which apparently not supposed to be able to have and I figure I will use them. I don't know if it will be fixed so if you cant work without a cutlass then you might need a new pirate.

I did the same thing. I have not yet figured out how to re-equip cutlass or where to go for training. I am at a level 7.

My character is lv 8, yet just like many others, I can only use my sword and voodoo (not pistol)

On another note with the weapons - I cannot buy the next sword even though I have enough reputation.

I had this problem aswell, I started another character, especially after the gibbs blocked task. Have restarted again just a day or so ago, after character would load at all.

Some U have got some highish levels and probs think it would to much to bear to restart, but i only started new character 3 eves ago and are lvl 5 going on lvl6 already and so far, touch wood everythings flowing nicely.

Wouldn't surprise me in rush to get some massive new patch in they'll reset everything like before, so i u think you holding on to somthing, you cud end losing it all anyways.
