Yeah, it costs quite a bit to run fairly large forums. Time you pay for vB for the software, domain name, server, any extra plugins for vB, back up service, and some other odds and ends...it adds up fast. The main reasons why we charge for certain extras to get some donations coming in to help pay for all the expenses.
There are some free forum sites and I would suggest getting started on those to see if you get enough interests for your site. |
