"General Level" ?

Does anyone know what General Levels are?

I just got an announcement that I leveled up and I am now "General Level 3". (I vaguely remember the General Level 2 announcement too.

It's not my Notoriety Level (which is 12 or 13) and it's not related to the amount of money I have...I just lost a lot of money trying to "win" 50 coins for a Quest. (Luckily, it only counts how much you win and ignores how much you lose).

I had just turned in one of many mini-Quests for Greer...not a significant event.

Anyway, just curious.

wow you got me on that one.. there isnt even a spot on our toon sheets that says general level.. Notoriety is what drives how many hit points and voodoo point we get.. and all the weapons classes are seperate,, so that is anew one on me.. unless its going to serve another purpose later after an update maybe its driven by overall status in the game.. like how many kills you have how many PVP kills you have and ships sunk and skills earned.. only time will tell..

The way you level your general reputation is via quests, that I've noticed. It'll say something like...
General Reputation Points earned 1
when you turn in quests.

I noticed yesterday when I turned in a quest I received 5 general reputation points and my level went to 3. Heck I don't remember ever getting level 2. But with all the constant spam, not surprising hehe.
