There is a story that has been told through generations and ranks of pirates. A tale of a pirate skilled, cunning, and destructive. A pirate who plundered, fought, and killed. He defied the laws that govern this Earth, and no one could stop him. He was a gifted pirate... But nonetheless, he was defeated. His name was Valorax, but many call him the Assassin.

Many stories have been woven about Valorax. This is however the true summation of his rise to power... And his fall to demise.

Valorax obtained his powers from a pact with the Undead.

Though he despised them so, he had no choice if he wished to be almighty. He made the pact with an Undead Gypsy sent by Jolly Roger. He would become immortal so long as he became Jolly Roger's personal assassin. The day he betrayed Jolly and refused to kill someone, he would no longer be immortal.

For a short amount a time, Valorax would need to become an Undead.

This was for the immortality to slowly take over his body. As an Undead, Valorax performed many dark deeds, unmentionable even by the most vilest and evil of all humans.

One dark day, however, Valorax became human again. He was now an immortal being. He set off to perform dark deeds for Jolly Roger, his new master. He was now an assassin.

Valorax wasted no time. He set off, as a powerful and dark heartless human, to kill all those selected by Jolly Roger. He stalked his victims to the final moment, where he would then deliver a finishing blow. It was said that you could never tell when Valorax was following you until you were struck down by a mighty blow of his sword. Few witnessed when a victim was killed of by Valorax. It was stunningly quick and almost like a flash of light. He would follow victims from above.

There was no escape from his all-seeing eyes. His favorite targets, however, were navy officers. He would stalk them carefully...

And at the last second, he would attack.

He would be gone long before anyone noticed him. One blow from his sword was all it took.

Valorax had many powers which he used to stalk his victims. There was no escaping him. He could even fly, with assistance from his voodoo staff.

He could walk on water, even.

With endless abilities at his disposal, he was unstoppable. One day, however, everything changed. Jolly Roger's hit list lead Valorax to his own brother. He cornered his brother, along with another assassin who served Jolly Roger, and was about to deliver a finishing blow.

Then his brother cried to him, saying "Valorax! Don't you remember me? I'm your brother! We grew up together!" These final words got to Valorax's heart. Though he was an assassin who had killed many, Valorax could not kill his own brother. He left and set sail to escape Jolly Roger and the treacherous navy, who were searching for him knowing he was responsible for all of the previous assassinations. The assassin who was with him told Jolly Roger of his betrayal, and Jolly Roger took Valorax's immortality from him before he could escape. As he sailed the seas, it was not long before the navy discovered his vessel. They crippled his famously known ship, the "Dark Reaver", and boarded his ship.

No longer immortal, Valorax was cornered on his own ship.

Then as the navy officers approached him, he said: "I have killed many. I deserve to die. I shall die... with honor." With these final words, Valorax fought with all of his might, killing off officers and dodging finishing blows.

Valorax fought a hard and long battle aboard his own ship, but in the end...

...Every villain dies.

Valorax was overpowered by the officers, and once they thought he was as good as dead, they threw him overboard where there was no hope for him to survive.

I have heard many stories ever since. Some say his body was eaten by sharks. Some say his body sunk into the in the waters of the Caribbean. I don't believe those stories. I know that somewhere, somehow, Valorax still lives. He will return, not as a murderous villain, but as a hero: Valorax...
