A "walk the plank" option - Pirates of the Caribbean Online Fansite & Forums

Many times have I started or joined a crew, boarded my ship and had people board my ship only to stand there and steal a cut of my cargo, waste time and a cannon by shooting grapples at non-flagships, or just plain annoy me.

I propose that there be a new option when you click on a player (the list that comes up when you click them, with crew, friend, whisper, etc.). The walk the plank option. It will only be available to click on when you are on your own ship. what it does: kicks that person off your ship. They will spawn at the nearest island. And be banned from that ship untill it docks, if it shoves off again, they can come back on.

This would be a great addition to the game because sometimes the leader of the crew( the only one who can kick out crewmates) is not the captain of the ship that someone is being a noob on. So if the captain of that ship gets annoyed with a person, and doesnt want them on their ship, they have to go dock, and if that person still gets on his/her ship, then he/she has to quit the crew just to get them off of their ship.

Some people might say that players could take advantage of this. well, OF COURSE THEY CAN. if its their ship, I think it should be their rules (unless their rules contradict the game rules). if anything it will improve behavior. if you anger the captain, he'll kick you off his ship. this discourages bad behavior as well as noobish behavior.

This addition would prevent conflict and noobishness. Which is in everyones best interest

Yeah, I've been suggesting this for a long time. Write to Disney about it. maybe we'll get it.

noobs suck they leech take over your ship and sail it into the middle of 100 Man o Wars and get it sunk

It's a peoples' fancy to a Walk the Plank option, though a Dump or Maroon option works with me. I like the idea as it was laid out though. It doesn't seem so cruel a thing to someone who was just taken aback in awe at the size of a ship, or to some unknowledgeable person who doesn't yet get this game.

Nothing so dramatic. Just make it so that if you boot them from your crew, and they're on the ship, they return to town.

With thier share of the gold that they would get if ship had ported...
(which would be little or none if they actually did not participate)

Not that I care that griefers get thier gold, but I can see people abusing this.

I think it's a good idea. I mean, sometimes I call my crew on for a wonderful sea-voyage (bombing ship, obviously), and someone else takes the helm of my beloved ship. Then the rest of 'em start quarrelling about who does what.
Not all the time, just because the one person takes the helm of MY ship.
It would be a good option, mind you, if we had the "walk the plank" thing going.

Marooning or Dumping sounds good, too.

That's a great idea! But...
If POTCO adds this thing into the game, people are going to start booting people off their boats for no reason at all. And what a pain that would be.

Oh, yes. That's very true. Unfortunately, some people don't know when to use it.
Maybe they can create a "twice-a-day limit" or something...

Hmm . . . I could also see people abusing this option as well. Perhaps they can have it so that it could be brought up to a crew vote. Anyhow with all of this clamoring for walking the plank, how about keel haulin'? Or perhaps flogging with the cat'o'nines (takes off Notoriety and/or gold).

I dont care what happens to them, as long as theyre off my ship, god, i hate having to have a shipwright salvage whats left of my ship and repair it for a high price just because some noob doesnt know that grapples dont work on regular ships

i dont care what the option is called, but walk the plank is more piraty lol
