Lag, Is there a counterattack to it?

Well I've been getting BAD lag recently, to the point where I can't enter buildings. And I was wondering if It's ME or the game's fault. And how to speed up the game! And hopefully help other laggers out there. Thank you Navymen!

Up until last Friday there were good days and bad days with the lag. Sometimes I moved very freely and other times in very jerky motions but rarely with the freeze in place thing that's happening now.

I re-downloaded to my faster computer and the lag is much improved but it has a dedicated graphics card and a faster processor so I was hoping that would do the trick.

The game is very memory intensive right now. If you're having problems where you're sitting in place for awhile then moving again, that's your active memory calling up memory temporarily stored on your hard drive, which is much, much slower. Close every other program running on your machine and see if that helps.

If you're having problems with a low frame rate despite the fact that you're moving, turn down your graphics settings. Opt for smaller resolution and no graphics detail or "low".

If neither of these things help, there isn't much that can be done for you. That which is known as "lag", which is a delay in network connectivity, rarely occurs, it's almost always a client issue.

Thanks. Do you know if the building problem is from the lag?

I installed on my laptop last night, which only has an onboard video card. I turned the settings down as low as possible and enabled compressed textures, and I was getting about 6-7 FPS. Enough that I could interact and move, and I could get into most buildings. Sometimes I had to back up, because the game hadn't realized I was close enough, or I'd lagged my way through the radius.

Try going to the door and back multiple times to see if that helps.

Thanks. Is Compressed less laggy than Low?

It seems the way they've got it working that compression is seperate from detail level... not really sure how that works, but the lightest setting is low and compressed.
