Both of the applications I mentioned are commercial applications, that request you to register them (pay registration fee).
Gif Construction Kit looks like it will continue to run, and just annoy you with some woman asking you to register upon exit (not sure). Ulead looks like it will stop working after 15 days if not registered/paid for. Finding applications that create GIF files for free, is not common. Because developers must pay for and license the format to be included in thier products. For example I couldnt get my free copy of PhotoPlus to save a gif file. I cheated however by saving the graphic it made from its Browser Preview function... Part of why I was asking what everyone else uses, might find a more cost effective option out there. |

Thank you SO much for all the info.
I do have one question about the PhotoPlus 6. What I don't get is how to import a picture to animate. I import the pics, but then the animation stuff goes away. I don't quite understand the GIF stuff.. sorry, im new to this animation stuff. Sorry for your troubles, again, thank you. -Amiela |

Quote:
It opens a box that has "signature.jpg" as its title. When you create a new graphic, regardless of type, it creates a box that says something like "untitled1" in its title bar. When you create a "new animation" it creates a "untitled1" (or other number) box on the screen as just mentioned. Ok now... when you click on one of the graphics you opened (ie the "signature.jpg" box/window), the information for the others disappears (ie the animation toolbar). So you click on the "signature.jpg" box, click edit, and "copy". Click back on the "untitled1" box that represents your animation, and the animation toolbar will reappear. Click frame one in the animation toolbar. Click the "untitled1" box again, then click "edit" and "paste as new layer". Repeat process for additional frames. (hoping that helps to clarify) |

Ok, im done.... hope you figured it out.
My best recommendation is to get a better graphics application. PhotoPlus is a scam trying to get people to purchase its more comprehensive versions, that quite frankly are poor to begin with. I've dealt with this company before. Thier software is mediocre at best, and usually subpar, and they sucker people into buying thier higher end versions (which also arent very good). There are many more less expensive graphics applications that one can use that will provide much better output. In most cases.. you get what you pay for... free is free (unfortunately in PhotoPlus's cases, you never get what you pay for). Last edited by Dr. Zeppers; 06-14-2008 at 06:01 PM.. |
