I resisted the urge to buy a doll on my new pirate and she's able to complete tasks and even go through doors! Also, the weapons panel shows my weapons like it's supposed to.

The drawback is, I'm not receiving the notoriety points that are supposed to be rewarded for the tasks.

I have made and deleted 3 new pirates today. Each of them got bugged at some point with the no doors, no weapon panel, no allowed to take Quests.
I was beginning to think Short Stack Sam was the culprit. He is sooo generous and I do love to spend my gold.

Will try one without a doll and see, tho' I had no doll on my first pirate until after she was bugged so I don't think that is the issue for me at least.
I am going to try and do only Story Quests and see if perhaps the others are the problem.

Gee I'm sorry you are having such problems since I recommended the doll.

I have a doll and I've had no problems like you described. I wish we had more of a dialog with the staff to get feedback on some of our problems, so we can be sure what is causing what and when , and we could avoid doing those things until they are fixed. (and know that they are aware of them.) All we can do is try to make educated guesses and share them. And without this third party forum we wouldn't even be that lucky.

Miss Marple, it may not be the doll. I also took only the quests needed, none just for gold. I too love ol' Short Stack but avoided him with this new pirate. I'm now on Tortuga trying to figure out how to kill those giant crabs. I have gone in and out of the tavern repeatedly!
Tiggerspice, it may not be the doll, it could very well be taking the other tasks. Now the drawback today is POTCO now owes me 15 notoriety points because since I made my first pirate the rewards have changed. I was supposed to get five just for finding Jack Sparrow! And this time I only needed ten gold to bribe the dockmaster instead of the fifty I shelled out last time.
Sailing hasn't improved for me on the broadsides issue. I may be making a fifth pirate after all.
Oh and I want that doll. Today players in the game were running all over the place unleashing their special powers. I wanted to unleash a few "special powers" on them for taking my cutlass points. I had to defeat 8 navy scum with only level 2 notoriety.
As buggy as this game is, I'm having a hard time pulling away from it.

There you go, my doors issue started after buying a doll... now the question is how to get rid of it

Or do I just camp sailing and killing ships and raising my sailing skills

I don't think it's the doll anymore.
I made two pirates yesterday, on the first I didn't buy a doll and didn't take any quests for gold, only quests that advanced my pirate. That toon is able to go through doors and ocmplete tasks.

The second pirate I again did only tasks for advancing, none just for gold (not even Short Stack Sam) but this one I purchased a doll for. She is also able to go through doors and complete tasks.

After this pirate did fine with her doll I purchased a doll for the first pirate, she's further ahead in her tasks and she's still going through doors and completing quests.

So I think the issue is with the quests we pick up from townspeople and commoners, maybe even Short Stack. My first couple of toons carried a bunch of quests for gold because, well, they're pirates and they like gold.

I still can't get points for sailing. What have you done to get those points? I'm not able to fire my broadsides, is there a trick to it I just don't know about?

The only problem I am having with the doll is when I use it against a skeleton for example it takes their hp all the way down but they don't disappear and they keep on attacking me with no hp. It hasn't affected any quests for me though.

I had that problem yesterday but it was with my cutlass on the navy scum. I restarted the game and I was fine after that. I did notice yesterday that I was having a problem with engaging certain enemies and even the characters that hand out the quests but when I restarted I was fine.

the same thing happens to me, even before i bought the doll it was still really glitched up though

i made a new toon that has only used the voodoo doll, and it hasn't gotten glitched yet, even with lvl 5 voodoo skill.

i concur, yesterday saw the start of unkillable monsters, no matter what weapon was being used.
