Glitches: Report for 05/28/08 update!

Okay. Noticing a LOT of annoying glitches. Ships going invisible, F9 now seemingly unable to catch multiple subsequent screenshots, even when given a 1 minute lag time between screenies (on an AMD X2 4800+ setup with 2GB of RAM).

Here's my invisible Colossus shot.



And you can see it's not that he's just out of range. You can see the Viper and Sentinel in the background behind him.

There's also a Storm Reaper north of PDF that's invisible too.

Also, when boarding said Colossus, I've had incidents with the enemies on board going invisible too. VERY annoying sitting there looking at an "empty" ship, wondering when WHEN OH LORD WILL IT BE MY TIME to swing back to my ship, and then get thwacked by a bladestorm.

Ive had the same thing about the enemies in hiding. They were on the new skelly flags. They seemed to also respawn if we didnt clear the decks fast enough. I ended up having to search for red circles with the staff, swinging around to nail the enemies with fire.

I've had trouble repairing ships. I have to repair them twice to actually fix them. Thankfully, the second time does not cost me anything. I also have been stranded on flag ships after all the crew is dead. Ships have vanished in mid air too.

Did we forget to mention the LAG from....It was NEVER this bad!!

this is VERY odd bc i had terrible lag ever since the weapon quest update now with this one i have no lag @_@ i have not crashed all day and have experienced little or no lag @_@ but i did notice some invisible ships and to make sure they were not out of range i got right next to one it was still invisible and it attacked me

The bugs I found:
1) Got the same 'invisible ships' glitch - not just NPC flags but even player ships...
2) Lost controll to work ship functions (Broadsides, Sail, Ram, Take Cover) - lost the ship due to a Spawn and coudln't hit it until I grabbed a cannon and it was too late
3) One of the three Ghosts (Seabeard in this case) was doing the 'floating trick' at tormenta on the mid-tier) and hard to hit
4) graphis were off twice (bad tenxtures), my shirt was green then red (and its a white shirt LOL)
5) a LOT less Navy out there in larger form (Frigates, Gals) - only light stuff and a few biggies (one man-o-war, a few monarchs.. thats it)

Thats all I got. I can sail from Tormenta again though and can walk out of Jail (coudn't after v3 patch) so meh... its another round of glitches.

My next test is the Boss Battle - myself I crash 50% of the time - and haven't been able to do crew battle since v3... will test later when not so sleepy

I like the boarding glitch with the new flagships.. playing yo-yo with them

I have seen / experienced:

- Invisible boat glitch.
- Going down with the ship glitch (although this was pre-patch too).
- The ship repair menu is bugged where you sometimes have to click it twice or just manually Exit out of 2 menus. Annoyance though not a bug where you lose coin.
- The new "ship sinking" animations slow me to a crawl. I know I'm sunk when I freeze for 5-10 seconds and then find myself sunk or in jail. I think it's when the game tries to load the new sinking animations I freeze.
- Pixel effects for firing cannons or having fire, thunder etc broadsides on enemy ships cause extreme lag for me, either while firing a single cannon or sailing the ship.
- Crashed while throwing a grenade onto a skelly ship --- NOW FIXED.
- Crashed shooting an undead on Cangrejos with the pistol.
- Saw a Man-O-War sail "through" Tortuga island from one side to another. The red name was visible throughout.

- Overall the game stalls, freezes and is more laggy that ever. To be honest, even though I have only been playing for about 3 weeks or so, I never experienced a crash before this last update. Boarding the flag ships are just slide shows for me atm.

I have a P4 3Gz, 1.5Gigs of RAM, a 256Mb vid card, tons of HD space etc.

I have the same PC setup as you and experience lag and more lag. The other bugs I ahve found is:

* Dismount from cannon, end up out in water and have to TP back to ship.
* Most ships in the distance dont have a ship under their name, just the ship name until you get closer.
* Flagship undead respawn
* flagship undead hide in the far parts of the ship out of sight.
* Losing control of skills while sailing until you step off wheel and back on.

Experienced this last night too. I couldn't fire my broadsides until I hit ESC and took the wheel again.

The other night as I mastered out my gunnery, we got a yo-yo flagship. We hooked it, and I went to prep my staff to clear the deck before swinging over and having to wait for the selections to take effect.

All of the suddeng BOIOIOIOING! BOIOIOIOING! BOIOIOIOING! BOIOIOIOING!

The dang flag was riccocheting all over the place.

Luckily someone had encountered it before and advised us to try and hook the thing again.

By that point, a storm reaper had come within "Take A Bath" range.

some ships go invisible because they go to a certain spot where it is far away or a lag

Late last night I was playing the Fathers Day Qwest. After filling my cargo hold I was able to fire on ships and they did not even know I was their. Really weird, not sure if anyone else experienced this.

You probably glitched a flag.

i have found out if you do the old skelly after pvp way your chat is broke you cant here your guild or crew or wisper. has anyone else had this problem please tell me how to fix it.
