It's always interesting, too. Jack Sparrow's being there or not being there seems client-sided, knowing whether or not you need to speak to him. If you do, he'll be there, and if you don't need him, he won't be there. Where he goes when you leave the tavern and come right back inside, nobody knows. He is Jack Sparrow, after all.
