Okay, so I need to get a blue orb from a EITC Frigate... I kill a frigate... nothing. It doesn't even check for one! I killed all types of EITC frigates... nothing. It doesn't check. It doesn't go like "searching for blue orb... not found". Nothing. A little help here?

Plus I've tried switching servers. Nothing.

I'm having the exact same problem, with the Cutless quest. I need to get the pages of the Pirate Lore back from EITC ships for Will, and so far I've only been able to get one. Now when I sink the ships, it doesn't even bother searching for one. Is it supposed to be like this now? They don't even bother telling you if you did or did not get it?

Well, alot of people have had this problem. Ive had the same thing with tehm and the hide ones too. Just took determination and alot of ship/stuff to kill to get them.

I hope they add the "checking for" thing back in; it really is a pain to not know if the game's messed up or not...

I had to get upwards of 20 frigates before I got the Orb. Just one of those things I suppose. The "higher lev" quests seem not to hand out the payload on the first (or second, or third...) shot.

Ah YES! i had to sink about 5 warlord and i finally got the orb!

i had this at first, try going onto a quiet server that worked for me. Once you start getting the items they don't stop its like triggering the quest. For the orb i sunk a few maurauders then moved onto the respawning warlord near anvil and got that on the 3rd sinking.

I got my orb hanging out at a frigate spawn point; sank about 10 of them in a row. I'd also killed about 10 other EITC frigates before this so the game is making you work harder for your new toys.

I have a strange feeling that "10" might be the magic number on some of the new quests. Dig ten holes, and whammo thre's your Book of Pirate Lore.

It might just be my imagination, but I think that having a particular quest open on "tracking" is breeding some success in finding objects.

Coincidence? Perhaps.......

the same thing has happened with me for the grenades quest, i need to sink an eitc galleon or frigate but ive sunk every type about 50 times and nothing!!!

I do have your answer om this 1 join a crew have someone to captain you shoot you will get it.

I tried this for hours till i got someone to drive it bang 1st 1 got it.

think some of them you will have to have help solving.

took me about 15 to get mine , never show it looking for it screen, until i got it , keep tryin

okay so the same thing is happening to me i've tried quiet/busy servers and i've tried marauders and juggys and that samll one that i can't remember the name of. all in all i've sunk about 25 eitc frigates and yet i am still not getting the blue orb. at this point i really don't know what to do. when ever i pull up my map it has taht * yellow thing one perdida or canjeros saying i need to sink a ship there. what should i do i've just about given up!

I was doing a tattoo request that required me to find family heirlooms on a EITC marauder.

3 days and about 20 Marauders later... I found those family heirlooms.

When I did the quest requiring the blue orb, it also took me several ships... to finally locate the orb.
I think the option of "looking for..." helped keep our sanity to know it wasnt there.
Instead of it appearing like its just not working.

Besides removing the "Looking for" option, it also appears they made some of these quest items a bit 'harder' to find, and not on just any ship. Which actually I like.. more realistic.

Ironically you do the silly little fortune quest in port royal (guy by the barrel), who tells you to sink specific EITC ships.
Any ship, and I mean ANY ship you sink fulfills this quest. Sink a navy ferret, instant payola.
