Victory Shark Fleet April 2012 - The Rise of Rott
![]() Carlos Columbus' surrender to the Brethren Court of Pirates only a few months ago was a major victory for pirates everywhere, as the power of the Headstone fell in to the careful hands of the Court. Instead of using the Headstone to dominate the Caribbean, however, it had been decided by a consensus of the Court (after a very heated discussion behind closed doors,) that it would be sealed away in a secret location with a select few of voodoo gypsies trusted by the Court highly enough to guard it with their lives. Because of this, the Caribbean has fallen back in to a balance of sorts; the fear of Undead domination and a plague ripping itself across the Seven Seas has been quelled, and the cycles of pirate activity (as chaotic as they may be) has returned to a natural order. The fate of Carlos himself, however, had fallen under much discrepancy; while many argued that a traitor of his stature should be tried and hung, many others argued that because he pleaded parley he should be given a chance to redeem himself by proving his new found loyalty to the Court. As controversial and risky of a decision as it was, it was decided that Columbus would be allowed to serve as a minor agent of the Court, under the jurisdiction and watchful eye of Marina Darkskull, the daughter of Carlos' captor, Delmaria. And as great of a victory the transfer of Carlos's loyalty to the Court was for the Caribbean, for Captain Ezekiel Rott (who has assumed full leadership of the former Jolly Roger's Skeleton Army,) it could not have been a more disastrous loss. After the pitfall of Jolly Roger's influence that occurred after the Battle of Shipwreck Cove, Rott has been doing all he could manage to gather support for the dwindling cause of Undead supremacy in the Caribbean. From selling support to the British Navy, to using a massive propaganda campaign against the Court across the seven seas, Rott has taken charge for the first time as a major threat to the Court's power in the Caribbean. However, with the loss of the Headstone, which many of Rott's supporters believed to be their key to gaining a head in the War for the Caribbean, a large portion of Rott's support has died down. Many pirates who at one time were excited and honored to fight alongside the Casa de Muertos have now fled back to the shores of the Brethren Court's ports across the Caribbean, leaving Rott with a force that grew smaller and smaller with each rise and fall of the sun. This has made Rott grow desperate - and moreover, angry. Carlos and Rott had made a deal while still in an alliance that Carlos would be willing to die for the cause of the Headstone serving the Undead; however, Carlos's surrender and flight back to the Court was a betrayal of trust for Rott, and because of that he has gone mad with wanting to seek revenge against him. Both have been down each other's throats since; which provides for a possible advantage that the Court is willing to capitalize on. Marina plans to use the feud between Carlos and Rott to provide a gateway right to Rott's unsuspecting forces, and hopes to deliver a blow that can cripple the Undead movement in the Caribbean. She hopes that while Carlos and Rott settle their own disputes, the pirates will be able to sneak up on Rott's forces on the sea and decimate their fleet, slowing their capability of moving across the seas and helping disable Rott's forces from the outside going in! However, Rott's forces cannot be underestimated - they are strong and dangerous, and would require the power of an entire armada of Navy Warships to overthrow. Luckily, she has connections with the most powerful fleet in all the Caribbean - the Victory Shark War Fleet!
