Since I have time to pause and look around, I've been appreciating the ambiance in the POTCO world. Despite the fact that the rocks have nice straight lines, the look of the dungeons/grottos is superb. I've even looked up at the ceilings and admired them. I think the developers have done a fantastic job of designing and implementing this microcosm.

One place I feel they really fell down was with the ghosts. I expected them to be somehow different. Reach out and touch you to drain some life essence, or even just freeze you by being nearby. Adventurers should require silvered or magical weapons to even have a chance of harming them.

No, the ghosts pull out swords or throw knives. Bane shot does extra damage, but they can be destroyed by the fragments of ordinary explosive grenades. Other than their appearance, how are they any different from other monsters?

I did find it weird that you could kill a ghost with ordinary weapons.

How about the red ghosts, though? They seem pretty powerful. Can they be defeated? Is there any point in trying? They seem to be able to do about 2,000 HP damage at a single blow.

Yes they can be defeated. You'll need a small army of high level Pirates to do it. Between freeze from daggers or cutlass and a few dolls you'll get it done. You get a funny looking Jester hat out of it.

I'm not jesting. Let's go for it. I thought those party hats were bought at the Peddlers when I returned to play the game. Found out it was from killing those ghosts. So let's get a party hat for every one who doesn't have one and then go underground to slay Foulberto for some famed weapons.

Got another Famed weapon plundering at sea last night.

I actually feel POTCO has done a good job with the ghosts by keeping them the same as other enemies. In my opinion, complexity isn't always a good thing.

If I'm available at the appointed time I'd be happy to be part of it. I'm tired of hiding from those wailing red ghosts.

Just tell me the jester hat is ... well ... Crimson.

I'd suggest a lesser-used server such as Vachira, and perhaps Saturday late afternoon, say 5:00 P.M. Eastern Time, which is 2:00 PM Pacific and about 10:00 P.M. in Europe.

Who's in? We can meet on the broken dock on Raven's Cove beforehand and crew up.

I'm in! Nice way to celebrate Saint Patrick's Day too looking for that pot of gold. Heck, let's call this special event The Ghostbusters Soiree.

Pirates show up to bust them red ghosts, Foulberto, and raid the mines in a mad frenzy to get loot!
