The Adventures, Misadventures, and Voyages of Capin Hector
Here I will post the Adventures, Misadventures, and Voyages of Capin Hector (Yes, I know I spelled "Captain" wrong. For those who know my second character...).
In these mostly Misadventures, I will use all my characters. I will be talking as Hector, not Otter, Trust, or Blaze. There will be no guild, just my ship's crew. I will use the islands in POTCO, and other areas (ex. New Orleans, England, Nassau, etc.). Of course, it will take longer than a couple minutes to get from Tortuga to Padres. I'll make it a couple days. This isn't a chapter, just sorta whats going on, and how my... well, Journal, will work. I will get the first chapter out as soon as I can, hopefully today or tomorrow. I'd love to hear from you guys, and I hope you comment if you like or don't like it. I hope you enjoy my Adventures, Misadventures, and Voyages! (These are not real! Most of the stuff I say on here, I probably couldn't do in-game.) ~Hector ***SNEAK PEAK*** I looked out onto the horizon through my spyglass. It just couldn't be... one-hundred eighty of them, in a straight line. Those, one-hundred eighty ships, separated me from the one true thing I wanted. Those one-hundred eighty ships, all cannons loaded. Those one-hundred eighty ships, I had to face. Now, I'm not saying what chapter this paragraph will come in, but it will come. Chapter 1
OK, here's chapter one. Now, I am a bit new at this "Story-writing" business, so I may be what you'd call a "noob"
-------------------------- June 17, 1715 Ratskellar, Padres Del Fuego 8:45 a.m. I awoke. In a chair. In a bar. The aroma of rum and gunpowder filled my nostrils as I took one big breath in. A small table next to me held an empty mug. I moved to get up, but my whole body was sore and stiff. I had no idea how I came to be asleep in the chair, or even in the bar in the first place. Then, like a piece of dust in a small breeze, something stirred in my memory. A crew... For the Sea Hawk... Yes, that was it. The Sea Hawk is considered the fastest Brig in the Caribbean, maybe even the whole world. The Hawk housed many secrets, including the infamous steel ram at the front of the ship, which I usually used to start a battle. Then, after that, I'd make a hard port turn, and broadside the front or back of the ship. My crew would have the muskets ready, and fire at the enemies on the opposing ship. By the time we boarded, there would be a small threat to take care of. I needed a good, strong, crew to man the Hawk. My last crew, well, marooned me. I found a small, beached dinghy and made a sail out of my coat and shirt. I soon caught up to them, and quickly cut down the sentries. While the rest of the crew was sleeping, I stabbed a knife through the backs of each of them, through the hammock. That, way, they didn't make a sound or alert the other crew members. No crew who mutinied deserved to live. After I disposed of the crew, I took on my first mate. He was an easy match, considering I had the advantage of surprise. So, as I was saying, I needed a good, strong crew to man the Hawk. Pirates who were worth their salt. Pirates who wouldn't mutiny. Pirates... Like that guy who is walking over to me. He was a slim, thin figure, yet he appeared strong, and his eyes were of those who were used to the sea. In there, I saw a pirate that could take on almost everything that was thrown at him. He carried a double-barreled pistol, a slightly rusty cutlass, and a battle dirk. As he was walking, I noticed how his eyes never drifted from where he was walking. He was a man who could focus, and knew where he was and where others were around him. "Excuse me," He started, "I was wondering who you might be." "Well, now. Why would you want to know the name of me? Why not... That guy over there?" I gestured towered a man who was a bit obese, and was sitting in a chair halfway across the room. This pirate seemed unimpressed by my comeback. "Well," he started, "Because I've heard rumors. Rumors of the infamous Capin Hector being struck by mutiny- Then sailing to this port, Tortuga." He said it as if he was stating a fact, not confirming a rumor. "I wanted to know if you had heard anything about him, or know where he is." He added. "Why, of course I heard of him. In fact, you are hearing him right now!" I said, and actually thought I may be overdoing it a bit. The stranger tilted his head a bit, like trying to hear a far-off noise. "Oh, really? And where might he be? In front of me, perhaps?" "Yes. You're looking at him. Glad to make your acquaintance. I believe I never got your name." "Name's Ottman. Most call me Otter. Heard ye were looking for a crew. May I sign up?" "Hmm, we'll have to see about that. Come outside with me, will you?" I made an attempt to stand up, but then just remembered I was still sore from sleeping in a chair. I grunted, puffed, and wheezed, but then got up. We got outside in an empty lot behind the tavern. There was a midmorning haze, and the air was humid, yet a light breeze stirred the area. I stacked a couple wooden crates together, and told Ottman to slice clean through the top crate, then make a downward cut through all three. He did as told, and with surprising ease. After gawking in disbelief, I stood a wooden broom upside-down against a stone wall. I drew a line in the dirt about 30, 40 feet away, and told him to shoot it with the double-barrel. He did it, and with surprising accuracy. I could tell Otter (As I had begun to call him) was no beginner. I accepted him into the crew, and, for the time being, made him First Mate. "Well, now what?" Otter asked. "We find more worthy pirates." Was my reply. ------------------------- ...So, how'd ya like it? Boring? Good? Too long? Too short? I'd maybe expect the latter... Lemme know what you think! Idk when the next chapter will be out... I got this one done so quickly. Last edited by Captain Hector; 01-21-2012 at 09:05 PM.. |

Chapter 2
Ok I decided to type this on Pages (Mac version of Word), and then put it on here. Idk what it will turnout like, but I hope you like it! Feel free to comment!
------------- July 20 Tortuga Docks 2:00 pm Now, remember what I said about no crew who mutinied deserved to live? Well, my crew is funny that way. I looked at my “crew” that marooned me, aboard the Sea Hawk, pulling ropes, repairing damaged areas, playing Poker on the deck. Then I looked at the crew that I recently recruited at Padres and Tortuga. There was about ten of them. There was Otter, who continued to be my first mate. And of course Trust, who has a very accurate aim with the cannon. From Blaze’s handy work with the Cursed Deepwater Broadsword, to Johnny’s expert marksmanship with the Privateer’s Bayonet, this crew should and will keep my other crew in line. Now, there it is again. The one fault with the Hawk. It’s cursed. Cursed with a fate that condemns her and her crew to Hell when the ship has sunk. Which brings me to another, boring point. My crew is cursed along with the Hawk, as you may have guessed. They cannot permanently die with the Hawk afloat. When my ship is sunk, they die forever. Their souls are tied along to the Sea Hawk. Theirs, and mine. When they are killed by someone else, they go to a special, small, square room in the bilge of the ship. It normally takes them several days to “come back to life”. After I killed them, I bolted the door shut. Yet, I knew that they wouldn’t stay in there for long. You already know the story, though. Sailed to Padres and got a crew, then Tortuga, and now I’m here. I led my new crew onto the ship. I needed, a good, strong crew to keep the cursed, original crew in line. My original crew got a bit careless, because they never permanently died. My new crew all seemed impressed by the Hawk. I breathed the old, salty, air that I was used to. The moment one of the new crew stepped on, all who was cursed turned towered them. I chose that moment to make a short speech. “Cursed pirates, behold your superiors! I, your Captain who you mutinied against, has brought back some non-cursed pirates to keep you in line! Now, If I hear any reports of you misbehaving or not doing what these pirates say, you’ll have me to answer to! And don’t think I’ll let you off easy. I’ll have you keelhauled!” I got a couple of nervous glanced from the cursed crew, but other than that it went back to what you might call normal. After all, nothing’s normal on a cursed ship! I showed my superior crew (I really have to find a name for them, don’t I?) to their cabin, and Otter to his private First Mate cabin. About an hour later, I called both of the crews to the main deck. “We are preparing to set sail,” I began, “And we need you two to cooperate together. So, we set sail now!” My crews started pulling ropes, hoisting sails, bringing me salted chicken. Otter came up to me right as I was finishing up my meal. “Captain, where to?” “Otter, sail toward those dark clouds on the horizon. I have some business to deal with.” Otter looked puzzled. “What dark clou-” His sentence was cut short by his discovery of the dark clouds on the horizon. “Otter, I’ll be in my quarters. You’re in charge out here.” I left Otter still standing with that puzzled expression on his face. When I stepped into my cabin, I immediately was hit by a musty, dusty, wall of gas. It smelled like mildew, moss, dampness, but most of all, it smelled like… Home. I sank into my old mattress and fell sound asleep. --------------- Looked like it pasted quite well. I hope to get a chapter out every weekend, even if they might be a bit short. Haha, I'm still new to this!

I like it! A few spelling mistakes, such as 'towered' should be 'toward'. Not a bad story! I like these types of things.
(1200th post! )
