Known Issues April 11 2008

I also found some known issues for all you literall people out there i found this here
  • Occasionally, your pirate will remain as an undead pirate after a PVP match
  • Occasionally, a Boss Battle crew will not remain intact after teleporting to the Boss Battle
  • Flagships will occasionally sling shot left and right when grappled
  • Flagships are disappearing intermittently when using a crew of 9-12 people
  • Icon over avatar heads in PVP will toggle between 3 different images
  • Members of the crew will sometimes get left behind when boarding a flagship, causing the player to be unable to move.
    • Workaround: Hitting F1 will release the player.
  • Once disabled, Flagships sometimes sink before you can successfully grapple them.
  • Using Firebomb cannons on a Flagship will ultimately sink it before you can board the ship.
    • Workaround: Don't use Firebomb cannons.
  • The Whisper chat window closes the second time you click Whisper and try to send a message.
    • Workaround: Close and re-open the Pirate's avatar panel each time you want to whisper to a fellow Pirate.
  • The Lookout System seems like it is often not able to find matches for higher level Pirates looking to do PVP
    • Workaround: Invite other high level Pirates to PVP before initiating the Lookout System.
  • The chat panel sometimes switches to Local when you are chatting with your Guild or Crew.
    • Workaround: Click either the Guild or Crew chat tab.
  • On rare occasions, pressing the Enter button on the keyboard will not bring up the Chat window.
    • Workaround: Click on the gold arrow next to the skull icon, which is found in the bottom left hand corner of the game window.
  • Occasionally, on certain Mac computers, the game texture will seem to appear missing or distorted creating an almost snowy effect to the landscape.
  • Game does not minimize when clicking Upgrade button on Mac.
    • Workaround: Switch your game settings to Windowed Mode
  • Grenades are not hitting the fort floors or ship floors.
    • Workaround: You must hit an enemy directly to cause damage.
  • Client memory usage goes up over time (i.e. memory leaks).
    • Workaround: Shut the game down and restart if you see your performance degrading vastly over time.
  • Vista and Mac game-related crashes occurring while boarding, sailing, and docking ships
    • Workaround: For users with ATI video cards, try updating to the newest driver version which you can download from here
  • Graphics issues (such as missing texture and weird display issues) on Macs, related to OS 10.5.1
  • Player ships disappearing when a Server goes down and is then taken out of rotation
  • Difficulty with finding the diamond on Queen's Nest, in the Recover Treasure Quest

cant wait till they bug fix all of the above, not really caring about the new updates.

yeah happy they are gonna have new things implemented, but at least fix the outstanding bugs first before stacking on more potentially bug filled options/features.

lol, I find it hilarious that folks didnt think they knew the skeleton/undead pvp glitch.

It was so obvious, all you guys that thought you were keeping a secret were fantasizing.

Zeppers Lvl 40 (all mastered but cannons lvl 21)

well like with vmk we have almost hard proof that vmk staff do read the forums bc they refer to them in game plus alot of our complaints show up ironicly in the next newsletter

lol @ the secret keeping part...i giggled myself on that..seeing a good 20-30 skeles a day..often running up and befriending me..offer to "show" me, or expecting me to compliment them.

Just wanted to say that some of these issues have known causes or have some causes which Disney did not mention.

Remaining an undead pirate after PvP, so far as I've seen it, is a player-triggered bug. Players do it purposely to gain unlimited ammo. When stuck on a ship, hitting F1 is not the only workaround; drawing any weapon will disable the bug. Also, I believe it is firebrand, not firebomb, lol. The whisper issue is one that is being fixed on the test server, so there is no longer a need to point it out since it will soon be gone. Other than that, I'd also wish Disney would add a few things to this list:

Low level flagships occasionally sink when blasted with broadsides or strong cannon ammo.
Occasionally, enemies will teleport behind the player once hit and will attack from behind the player, causing the player to lose valuable combo reputation if he/she does not turn around quickly. (If it is indeed a stronger enemy getting behind you to attack, they should make it look smoother and not just a sudden "jump", so that the player may continue to combo the enemy.)
Occasionally, Guild chat will be lost, possibly due to a dictionary related block. Rewording the chat you've just typed seems to fix the problem. (Not a bug, just wished they would flash unacceptable words in red so that you have a chance to change them.)
Occasionally, your character will remain stuck in the grenade throwing position. Draw a weapon to fix this.
Occasionally, a player will be stuck in an infinite stun, and will not be able to run. Draw a Stink Pot grenade and throw it at your own feet, resetting the stun counter and allowing it to count down and not remain stuck. You can also attack an enemy which attacks stun you anyways, and that shall also reset the counter, allowing it to count down to zero and allowing you to run afterwards. This bug used to be caused by teleporting and being hit by an enemy who could stun you right before your character disappears. However, that bug was fixed, but this still happens in other forms.
Occassionally, at least for me, the Leadership skill's glow remains even after the skill's counter has run out. It continues to glow until the ship is landed. This gets really annoying when you try to get off the wheel to use a cannon, since it slows down your character and it takes you longer to get to the cannon. Getting back to the steering wheel is even harder after you're done with the cannons with the glowing still in effect.

I think I'm missing some, but this is the basic.

first things first i copied this FROM THE POTCO KNOWN ISSUES PAGE located here so those typos and fixed were not by me tyvm that was disneys poor typing

Then why did you say "I also found some known issues"? You should have specified whether you meant you found a place on the website with known issues or whether you found the known issues yourself.

No problem though, I've fixed it up. I made Disney look like the "guilty" one.

Yes the typing one is not a bug, I mentioned it was dictionary related, but I wish it would at least flash unacceptable words in red so you have a chance to at least change it rather than the whole thing disappearing.

ok since you clearly dont get it when i said i found some known issues i meant i found them on the website and btw you are taking this way to literally and compleatly off topic

I'm not fighting nor did I say you were the cause of the typos. I said I made Disney look like the "guilty" one since I changed the things I said using Edit and replaced "you" with "Disney". Everyone knows Disney is to blame.

Yeah, and sorry about the sources thing, lol. I take that back, I meant is as a joke.

BIG TIME! Nothing worse than having to figure out WHICH word was the one it didn't like...

So you start typing out one-two words at a time... painful
