Cant control ship, or pirate, most of the time

For the last 4 or 5 nights I have quite often lost control of my pirate/ship. Been running this game on the same computer since I started playing 2-3 months ago.

Lately, though, any lengthy holding of W,A,S or D has resulted in total loss of control of pirate or ship. Not all the time, but it loves to spawn itself at the most of inappropriate times. (D for tight come around port broadside strikes, etc). Random WASD hits + mouse clicks eventually manage to stop the out of control pirate/ship.

Same maneuvers I've made multiple times per night since I've been playing.

My keyboard was way old and dirty, took it apart and cleaned it, still nothing. Mouse wasn't that old but showed no signs of wear. Both keyboard and mouse worked absolutely fine in any other situation. So I went out and bought both new mouse and keyboard just for the hell of it. Same thing.

Uninstalled the game, reinstalled the game. Same thing. It's intermittent but a PITA.

Am I the only experiencing this problem before I submit to Disney?

Not sure if this is related because it only happened while trying to walk/move/turn, but never while steering ship. It's only happened a few times, but holding down WASD keys any more than a quick tap resulted in "exaggerated movement". Like if I wanted to turn just a little, I'd spin in circles until hitting another key. Very frustrating! I wound up going to control panel and messing with my keyboard settings/character repeat, delay and rate. That seemed to do the trick, though I don't know what triggered the change in the first place.

Ive had a problem before when my pirate just goes bezerk and runs in circles until I mash the keys. Kinda funny, but at the wrong time its bad. Got full control of my mouse, but other than that....nada.

If you're using Windows, go into Control Panel, and bring up "Accessibility Options".

If there's anything checked on any of the tabs, uncheck it.

Sometimes Windows will decide that, gee, your keyboard usage patterns indicate that you might need some help, and it will helpfully enable the "FilterKeys" and "StickyKeys" features for you.

No thats not it.

But I'm done with this game. I'm tired of going out, collecting 3 or 4 royals, and then get stuck between reapers, man o's and ogres, watching my f'n ship go around in circles and get sunk because I can't do anything.

Keep your free account and start back up when it gets better. I had the same problem in another game and found out later that my keyboard was just bad.
