White Screen
Everytime I try to log on to PotCO, my whole screen turns white and I have to shut it down. Any suggestions?

What graphic card do you have & what graphic settings are you playing on?

What changed in your system since it last worked?

It was working fine before. Then my laptop screen broke. I just got it back yesterday and now can't play. As for the Graphics, low and my graphic card, I don't know. I can't even load up the page were you hit play.

Wow now I can log on, but the screen goes into this little box and then exits, whenever I try to click back on it, it goes back to normal, then if I click it, it makes my screen a box again.
EDIT: Now I'm getting a runtime library thing, making my game close. |

What Operating System? Try uninstalling POTC and reinstall. I'd also make sure your video drivers are up to date.

Try uninstalling the launcher + deleting the disney folder for Pirates Online... ...then reinstall the launcher and download client files after logging in. That white screen problem sounds like the graphics card or the CPU locking out when that specific program is launched. It, most likely, could be the game files. That, or whoever fixed your laptop screen didn't:
Or it could be a software/driver issue after repair. Tons of possibilities... |

I feel like a noob, how do I test those things you said?

First, let's try uninstalling and reinstalling the game. Follow the keys/text in
( ). Copy text in ( ) if needed for other steps. Steps 1) Press the ( Windows Logo key + R key ) together to open up the program Run. 2) In the text box displayed, type ( control appwiz.cpl ). 3) Find the ( Pirates Of the Caribbean Online ) application in the Add/Remove Programs list 4) Click on it and find where it says ( Change, Remove, or Uninstall ), click whatever one it shows. 5) Proceed through the installer like any other application. 6) After that's done, close out the window and the Add/Remove Programs window as well. Press ( Windows Logo key + R key ) again. 7) What you type here now depends on the operating system you have. Look below for the default locations and paste them into Run 32-bit = ( C:\Program Files\Disney ) - Its default location. 64-bit = ( C:\Program Files (x86)\Disney ) - Its default location. 8) A window should open up showing the ( Disney ) folder. Right-click it and delete. 9) Download the updated launcher here - ![]() 10) Go through the installer like other programs, clicking Next and all. 11) Launcher should be downloading updated launcher files when you run the Pirates Online launcher. 12) Log into the game normally. Change Graphics Options api if needed. 12) By default, the game will start on Graphics API DX8. Change to DX9 or OpenGL if desired, or if DX8 does not work. Try that. I really think it could be corrupted game/launcher files. |

Maybe it goes white because it's still loading. Could you post a screenshot of it? |

i have seen this happen on a windows 7 OS. his fullscreen " size is to small". so it shows a black box around the game. from what im reading he can play but when he is trying to change the screen size is when he gets this "white Screen".
If i was you mate i would send in a bug report.(with player log files) info on this can be found on the bug report form Or live chat ( bug report will be better i think) |

I had that happen to me. However, my graphics drivers from nvidia carry a desktop size and position function that forces the game to use the whole screen. It must be filling whatever pixel size he has it set too, followed by black borders for the unused portion where no pixels reside. There should be an option that sets any game to NOT run by your screen's native aspect ratio, which causes those black borders to appear. It's probably a graphics card driver issue, Pirate. |

It's weird the screen is small, but the screen shots come out normal.

It will always take a full, solid screenshot of the game screen without the bars because the application was designed to only snap whatever the graphics card is rendering. In order to take a screenshot of the entire screen with the black bars/borders: 1) Find the key ( Print Screen or PRTSC ). Press that key once with the pirates application open to the small screen with borders/bars. Follow the "Note:" below. Note: If your keyboard has a ( Fn ) key, then you may need to press ( Fn + Print Screen/PRTSC ) keys together for the computer to take the screenshot. 2) After you've pressed the key(s), minimize the pirates game and open up the application called ( Paint ) found in Windows. 3) With ( Paint ) opened up, press the keys ( Ctrl+V ) after clicking the white space in the program with the mouse. 4) You should have a screenshot of the game including the black borders/bars. Save the image, and upload it here. Upload it here and we can have a look at it. |
