Why does my game crash often in ideal servers? Anyone else too?
Came back to PotCo a week and half ago, and I noticed whenever I go on ideal servers (i.e. Abassa or Antik) my game would crash every few minutes. And, I can't go to Foulberto without crashing in a kill.
Is this normal? Because I hear a lot of people crash, but not as frequently as me. I play in Direct X graphics, max graphics. I don't lag at max, so I tried lowering the graphics and it didn't change a thing. Specs : Windows 7 64-Bit Processor : AMD Phenom(tm) II X4 840 Processor 3.2 GHZ Video Card : AMD Radeon 6750 Yes, my video card is up to date. No I have not tried re-installing the game, doubt that would change a thing. Edit : Fixed the problem... just turned off Compressed Textures & Aggressive Memory Convservation and it seemed to do the trick. Last edited by lerzba; 10-18-2011 at 08:30 AM.. |

You have the same exact system as me. I been trying for the past year to get answers to these problems and can't find anything. But it isn't as bad like it was before (getting disconnected five times a day). I hope you can get your probem fix!

Thanks, but I'm not sure if theres a "fix".
I don't crash 5 times a day, I crash 50 times a day. Got on abassa, 10 minutes passed and I crashed. Then I went back on again and crashed in 2 minutes, then 15. Etc |

Lower your game settings and make your internet connection wired. Other than that you can ask the game politely to stop doing that. Best of luck.

I have this problem too now, and I think I know the reason why. The game recently went launcher only from the option of using a browser. When the browser launcher was released, they fixed the usual crashing that you would get on a crowded server. So the website launcher was, essentially, an upgraded version of the desktop launcher. However, now that they've taken the website launcher away, we have the old, crash ridden desktop launcher that we had before, completely dry of bug fixes.

I would suggest talking to Live Chat about it. They may just tell you that it's your computer, but it's worth a try.

i haven't noticed crashing as much as just locking up. last night i was with a crew at Kingshead on an ideal server (Lempona?), and the game itself just locked up and i got the spinning Mac beach ball cursor. i could click away from the game window and do other things, so it wasn't the Mac itself. it did that to me about three times, then i quit and restarted the game and went to a quiet server. i didn't have any problems the rest of the night, and hadn't had any earlier in the day until then. weird.

On the launcher , before logging in you could click graphics options and try a different setting, such as "open".

I'll try all of the settings, and try to find the best fix, but I doubt it'll change anything.
It crashes on my ASUS laptop to, and Abassa was quiet last night and I still crashed as if it was full, my guess is that it's just the Oceans. Live chat won't really help, they will just ask me to send bug reports and stuff. Disney should work on fixing this problem. |

If your on Abassa, your more than likely to crash. I put my graphics to "Medium" on the options. It seems to help for me.

May be a heat problem. May be graphic settings or graphics API selected. May be a internal problem. More information is needed... EDIT: Yeah, I forgot to read your above post :/ 5 Mbp/s is really nothing "fast", but, it'll do for this game. Did Pirates Online run fine for you on your ASUS machine before? 1) I think you should try re-installing the pirates online application. Uninstall and remove the folders it leaves and re-download and re-install the launcher. Change API to DX9. Login and download the patch files. Make sure you set graphic settings to low while at the Pick-A-Pirate screen. If it crashes again, switch API to DX8. |

All my drivers are up to date and all of them are working, I don't see why it would be a heat problem, an old computer could run this game. My PC has 6 fans.
5Mbp/s upload speed is very fast, 400kbs is enough to run this game. I didn't say download speed (if thats what you thought) My download speed is over 40mpbs. It is not my computer. My ASUS laptop is x10 better then my desktop computer, and it crashes. Specs of laptop: Processor : Intel Core i7-2630QM Graphics card : NVIDIA GeForce GTX 460M I have tried reinstalling it, it doesn't change anything neither does changing graphics. I don't see why it would be considered a graphics problem if I only crash on Abassa, even if no ones on the server. Sounds like more of a connection problem to me. But,then again I have super-fast internet. Last time, I played on an whole other computer in another country, I had the same problem but it would only happen once every few hours, not every every 2-3 minutes. I'm just going to say they are Disney bugs, that affects some people for some reason and others not. I hope they fix this. P.S. Another funny thing, that'll probably confuse you. The game doesn't crash my on parents laptop, they have Windows XP. Both of my computers have Windows 7, possibly a Windows 7 problem? |

I have Windows 7 and it works fine.
Perhaps, if you're running from an older launcher, downloading and installing the launcher again will help? |

Yeah, I'm running from a old launcher. I can't seem to find where to download the new one.
