My Little Pony ~ Friendship is Magic

This is a completely serious post.

So a long long time ago in a galaxy far far away, a friend of mine provoked in to me a discussion on My Little Pony, Friendship is Magic. Having never seen the show, I immediately started laughing in his face as would be expected of a grown man talking about My Little Pony, until I realized he was completely serious. He was insistent that the plot was actually better than most kid's shows these days, and despite the initial premise of the show it is actually a very watchable television show.

Wanting to see this for myself, I immediately ran off and watched a few episodes. The first episode I came across (I decided to watch the first episode, and then go up in order of the season) I almost hurled when I watched the entrance... but, I soon realized my initial thought was wrong.

In the span of two days I watched over twenty episodes of that show, and was already demanding a second season.

I'm completely serious.

I just can't explain it. You really can't understand how quickly you begin to love the show. It's not a "girly" show as one would suspect, and the characters are so lovable it just makes this old pirate heart want to keel over. (My favorite character is Rainbow Dash, who is the easily the best character, and anybody who disputes this will be curiously led in to a dark alley by my body guard Peter.)

So, I must ask - who has seen this show?

Wow... i've been wanting a new decent cartoon for a while now... maybe I should check this out.

I started looking at this program after I noticed that you were quite... fond of it. I then became hooked on the adverts. Yes, the adverts. They may be dodgy colourful talking ponies, but there's just something about them...

I really ought to try the program itself out. :P

I used to watch the 1980's version of My Little Pony when I was a kid.
I have seen the newer version yet, might have to get it a try.
But I do not like it when they try to update something that I
watched as a kid, it never works out. They did that with
Strawberry Shortcake, Care Bears, He-man, and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and I
did not like the new versions of those. But I have heard alot about the
My Little Pony one over on PHF.

I actually took some time to see it, and I must say, its actually a pretty cool show... seriously. I was expecting ponies and rainbows in a valley of sunshine, and that's what I got... albiet in a much more epic way...

I do have some "friends" that... like this show... a lot... I can't exactly tell you how, but some of them are really into it...

Del, I believe you are officially a "Brony".

I watched the original show back in the 80's as it was one of the many awesome Marvel/Sunbow toons but the only thing I remember is the Seaponies "Shoo-be-do" song oh and it had the typical awesome 80's cartoon villain in it complete with what I seem to recall a beating Heart in a sack! It was never as good as its contemporaries as it was a cartoon aimed at girls (That's not meant to be a sexist remark more a reflection of the time)—give me Transformers, G.I. JOE, Inhumanoids or even JEM any day.
