Welcome to the forums and the game, Mate!!!! Just follow the rules anyone lays out for you and you should be fine (hopefully...). I'm not very good at tips... so I'll just let the others help you with that.

 Well, let me just beat Del to the guilds explanation. In the Guilds And Clans subforum, you can choose all types of different guilds and make new friends! Whether it's Black Bart's Krewe, Dueces Wild, Partners N Crime (that's actually Del's guild), or Shadow Sorcerors, you'll always have a fun time! There's still many other guilds to choose from by clicking on the POTCO Guilds And Clans subforum and still equally fun. Let me explain the ones with subforums: Dueces Wild - A fun guild that welcomes adult pirates and has a good time altogether!  Welcome aboard, Blackpool! So, you need to gain your sea legs still, yes? Not to worry, as the forums and it's members can provide you with many helpful tips and tricks that can help lead you on your way to becoming just as notorious as all the other seadogs that roam around here. The first thing I must suggest is that you find yourself a guild to join. Guilds are an essential in Pirates Online, as cooperation between players is key if you want to have an enjoyable time while questing, leveling, looting, plundering, and all that. Plus, unlike a lot of other MMO's out there, POTCO is unique in that the guilds around here are much more connected, intouch with one another, and overall create a better pirating atmosphere. Of course, out of the millions of guilds in the Caribbean, each one is different than the other - which is why you need to make sure that you find one is right for you! To ease your time in searching for an ideal guild, the forums have provided a very clean-cut way of presenting guilds from across the Caribbean so that you can make the best judgement on which group of seafarers is right for you. The majority of guilds can be found in the Guilds and Clans Section - here, you can find threads for an assortment of guilds from across the seven seas, each showcasing what they got and why you might be interested in joining them. There are also some guilds that have their own subforums around here, which present to you some of the finest guilds in all the waters. Here, you can find Black Bart's Krewe, Shadow Sorcerors, and my own guild, Partners N Crime. Look at as many guilds as you can, and take your time - remember, only you can judge which guild is the best for you, so don't rush your decision. Once you think you have found a good guild, and have read over their rules, Private Message the Guildmaster of that guild and ask for instructions on how to join. Once you have found a good guild, you can rely on them to help you in your time through the Caribbean - however, if you still have questions, you can.....

Thanks everyone for the warm welcome and replies. First off sorry for not being more original in my thread title, when I posted it there wasn't another New Here visible so I figured it was a safe title to use.
Anyway I am indeed an adult, and am looking for a fun, active and mature guild to join, and the sooner the better. I tend to need the social interaction of a guild/clan to really enjoy myself in MMOs these days so I hope to join one of yours in the near future. Again thank you for the warm welcome and look forward to hopefully meeting some of you in game. |
