My idea of a guild house/pirate house system. (Adapted parts from the TTO style.)
Since people seem worried about houses, here's my proposal on how to accomodate this. The location of these houses would be on an entirely new set of islands or in the current islands themselves. The catch to fixing the program to adapt to this without horrid overcrowding is to implement a 1 door infinite map program. This works through the programming of the game making a mini map each time a guild or character is made. This pirate would be assigned to the map(s) when they start the game and or guild, and these maps would not affect lagging in the game. If you are in a guild with a guild house, you would get an option of entering your home or the guild house when entering the door, and then be sent to that area. Also, to make sure this was 100% accesible, there would be a door on each major island. (Sort of like a voodoo transport system in a pirate way of putting it. ^^) That's how TT has theres set up, only difference is you just TP to your housing. I don't wanna go into detail about the homes themselves, just how to resolve the issue of overcrowding. (Noticed that paragraph is really, really choppy. Good Luck making sense of it! ^^)

my idea for overcrouding is simple the more members in the guild the bigger house you get and once big enough your guild can obtain a guild island

Convoys
I haven't fleshed it out, but some sort of convoy that appears at some part of the sea and travels to the other side of the map, like spanish conquistadors returning to Spain laden with gold (timeline probably wrong, but something like that). Always high level with lower level screen around. Something one ship would have trouble with, but several ships attacking together could overcome. Have it sail right past Devil's Anvil to seem inviting. Maybe several flagships as the prize, but other ships around so that if you board without cover, you may come back to a very leaky ship.

I vote for walk-the-plank, too, for those crew members who just can't figure out how to behave. A real captain could do it - we should, too! And I agree with the idea of letting the captain turn off the cannons aboard ship. I'm tired of losing a full cargo because of some !%$^# who can't stop firing.
Also I'd love to be able to leave messages for friends &/or guild members who aren't currently online. I can't figure out how to leave messages on the DXD player's channel except for pre-progammed inanities. |

Well, many of these things have been mentioned before, but hey, I figure maybe if enough people request them, then maybe Disney will pay attention.
================================================== ======== 1) Storms at Sea ~~~What's up with the no weather? I was in Jamaica for a week and there was a lightning storm out on the Caribbean every single night. It would probably cause too much lag...but if it was off in the distance on the horizon, it would be much more realistic. 2) Guild Houses ~~~This is a great idea. Instead of having houses all over, like a previous poster mentioned, they should have them located on a seperate server and you have to use a 'magic' door to enter....one door located on each island. This would act like the door on "Howl's Moving Castle" as when you leave, you turn a dial and walk out into a different land. Only catch is the door you walk out has to be the one you walk back in. This would add some quests to the game (i.e. kill stump to obtain wood, sink ship to obtain iron for door knob...etc.). 3) Walk the Plank ~~~obvious 4) Enemy AI ~~~Like mentioned before, something needs to be done about this. It makes no sense....maybe the enemy would attack the player who swung at him most (hit or miss)...but the way it currently is is pretty unrealistic. 5) Kraken...or other sea monsters ~~~Obviously this would be great! Giant squid latches onto your ship...how intense would that be? 6) Ships --a) Custom sails ~~~Could work just like tattoos I'd assume....go to the local textiles merchant and choose a design for your main sails --b) Custom bow ~~~Could choose from different bow 'statues' so instead of the skeleton on the front...maybe a mermaid...or a serpent... --c) Crow's nest ~~~Ability to use a telescope to hunt for prey 7) Pirates ~~~What the heck kind of pirates are these? None of them have hooks for hands, pegs for legs, patches for eyes or parrots on their shoulders. Come on, this wouldn't be that hard. Maybe it could happen randomly...like a croc bites off your leg while in the swamps of Cuba and then you'd need a peg leg. 8) Crew Registry ~~~Ever wanted a crew to sail with? Ever wanted to cannon without having to sail out your own ship leaving the helm to shoot, running back to relocate ship, repeat? There needs to be a sign up sheet somewhere that you can sign up as "Captain looking for crew" or "crew needing a Captain". Click on one of the names on the list and a message goes to the person you click and they either accept or decline you for their crew 9) Better server menu ~~~I get to choose between "Ideal" (which usually is too laggy to be ideal) and "Quiet"....which one do I choose if I want a medium amount of people so it's still possible to find a crew, but not too overcrowded that the game lags like noone's business? Maybe it could give you an average of how many people are on the server. 10) PvP Server ~~~Enter if you dare...no rules here, players can harm other players. Could have an interesting set of rules like: If you attack another player first, but they end up defeating you, they get to plunder your gold (25% or so) or can take an item of your clothing...their choice. If you are attacked by another player first and defeated...you just go to jail, player who defeats you gets a set amount of gold per your Noteriety Level (i.e. 2 Gold for those who are below attackers Noteriety, 10 Gold for those above, 5 Gold for those within +/- 3 Levels of Noteriety) but this wouldn't come from your stash. If you board another players ship and are defeated on the deck of their ship, they have the option of taking your ship....for good. If you board another player's ship and defeat them, they go to jail and you plunder thier accumulative gold (25% or so). ================================================== ======= That's all I've got. |

Interesting ideas everybody
. I've been doing a lot of thinking lately about the story line expansion coming this summer. I have an idea that can keep the expansion of the game going on for a very long time. There are nine members of the Brethren Court. Each member is a Lord of a different sea/ocean. Why not slowly add on these areas (a a rate of 1 for every year) to the game.Each new area has a navy, east india, Jolly Roger (or other undead pirate group), and Brethren Court lord faction. Each has a permanent presence on an island in this sea/ocean. Other islands in each area can be taken over and controlled by any of these factions. Player guilds working in league with the Brethren Court lord of the area will establish pirate strongholds on the various islands. -Marc |

That's a great idea, Lindyshutterbug. I also think that you can own a house for you pirate, I mean, maybe on your ship, not for the light sloop, but for the ships that have the inside part with the door, they should let you go in that and use it to store items, like spare tonics, weapons, ammos, and such. It would make it a lot easier to organize your things and you can hold more ammo, so if you run out of a venom shot or chain shot, you can just go on your ship, get some loaded up in your inventory, then drop your anchor where you need to go. Also, you can have like a bed or cot or something, and when you lay in it, you recover your health and voodoo quicker. I don't know, just a thought.

Yeah, they should have more characters from the movie...and I think Elizabeth Swann should talk more. She just says, "I think it would be a good idea for you to go" or something and it's really annoying, you should at least be able to do a quest or something.

Simply put, I want the ability to deny someone using the "Go To" function. This would stop a large portion of the stowaways out there. They never seem to happy when they realize that I will sooner sink my ship than allow them to remain onboard.
Edit - One additional thing I would like to see brought to mind by the next post is AFK echoing. If I set /AFK, I would like to see whispers coming to me responded to with "The user is currently away from keyboard and may be unable to reply". Loot Hard!
