Hey guys my game wasnt working so i uninstalled it, i went to the potco site and there was no desktop download for PC, or MAC... either that or i dont know what im doing anymore... so can someone give me the desktop download link or something, maybe tell me where it is on the site... its not in the help section. Thank You

I had this same problem too. I got an E-Mail from Disney and they explained it. They are removing the ability to download the icon, and are soon going to be removing the icon from peoples computers who have it. Sorry mate, you have to use the website to launch the game, and soon everyone else will have to also.

I had to uninstall the game to fix a graphics glitch, and when I asked how to get the desktop icon back, they said:

Hello again, Pirate pal!

We apologize for the confusion from the previous e-mail but that is the only way to play Pirates Online now. The installer that puts the launcher on your desktop has been removed from the website as we have been moving away from that for some time.

You are no longer able to download the desktop launcher and soon we will be completely disabling it for those who still have it installed. All Pirates will be connecting through the website soon.

Thank you for writing back in and we hope this helps explain things!

Well that's stupid! That means that everyone with Norton Anti-Virus can't play anymore! I have Norton and when I try to log into test, Norton pops up saying
VIRUS FOUND
MORE THAN 100 PEOPLE HAVE EXPERIANCED THIS PROBLEM
RISK: HIGH
WE RECOMEND THAT YOU DO NOT USE THIS FILE

It's not a virus! (BtW, by recommend they mean : we are not gonna let you play this)

It stops the game and takes ne to the report a bug section.

A number of pirates are experiencing a variety of issues using the browser launcher. Disney again is trying to simplify but instead is going to alienate even more paying customers as opposed to bring in more and newer folks.

My advice is to disable and uninstall Norton all together and start using Microsoft Security Essentials, it is freeware from microsoft and works way better than Norton.

All you have to do is disable your antivirus until the game installs entirely then enable it. That is what I did and I have norton antivirus. Mine did the exact same thing you are describing. Hope it works mate.

So they are removing the desktop launcher? I can't play on the internet. My antivirus freaks out. The internet mode has horrible graphics. :/

I can't believe they would do this. It's extremely annoying that they aren't allowing you to go on the original way for no reason.
