Thank You
A great big thank you to all who have served this great nation, to the families who also served, and to all those who have supported our service members and continue to support our Veterans. This country would be a far different place if not for those rare few who were willing to risk all for the intangible ideal of "Freedom."
Also, a very special thank you to the Krewe's own Combat Lizzy, who continued to serve one of this nation's Veterans through his darkest hours. Mate, you stuck it out like a Trooper yourself. I raise my glass extra high to you today. Semper Fidelis, Lizzy.

I can't appreciate their work enough. Even if I TRIED to put it into words, it would come out a garbled mess. You just can't put my appreciation into words!

You know I'm not even going to try to make a speech, cuz I think Bart covered it all. Instead, a hearty Yo-Ho to our nation's Veterans!

Thank you, Bart for posting this. Today is bittersweet since it is exactly a month since I lost my Marine. I salute all that have served & the families that give them support on a daily basis.

Today I reflect on those friends I have lost in the current war, and all those lost in all the wars our nation has fought. To honor those I served with I dusted off my Regimental crest and Jump wings. I wore them today, as I have done for the past 17 years since I was medically retired from the Army. |

I can't gratify enough the thousands of brave, selfless people that serve our country today, and the millions before them. Today is not a day to only comemorate our veterans, but to honor those who are left to cope with the horrific toll of war.
I'd personally like to thank any of the soldiers we have here marching around today, including you Bart. You all remind me of my long family line of servicemen - the kind of people I still look up to today. |

To all those who served, or are serving, or stayed behind while loved ones served, my heartfelt thanks. A special thanks to those in Krewe who served, particularly to Bart, and to Lizzy. And always, to my grandfather, Quartermaster, US Navy lander, Pacific Theater, WWII.

A heartfelt thanks from me as well to all of our service men and women who have and still are serving. This great country would NOT be what it is today without all that you have done to protect us. I have close to 12 Vets in my family right now and a few of them STILL serving this country (oldest sister is stationed on the northern west coast with the Navy and a cousin serving the military now).
A heartfelt thanks to those who took care of vets as well. That truely is a job tending to them when they are hurt and injured. A big hug goes out to Lizzy just the same. For many yrs you took care of your Marine the best you could. Was sad to hear that we lost another great vet that served us so well. |

Aye, I cannot thank you, Bart, enough, as well as the countless millions of servicemen and women who have served and continue to serve our country. It's this kind of selflessness that ensures us our freedoms that we perpetually cherish. Veterans and current service people alike will always be there to remind us that there's always something to fight for that's bigger than ourselves. My prayers go out to all past and current service people, as well as their loved ones who stay(ed) behind.

Thanks to all that have done many great things for our country. We need more people like you. Both my Uncle and Grandpa have served in a war, and I continue to look up to them.
