Arrow What is your Voodoo doll build?

I am working on my Voodoo build and, like I did with sailing, I wanted to put up a build post for the doll. Eventually, I hope there will be one for each skill.

I am a very casual gamer and I am sure there are plenty of us out there. I do not have time to master a skill and then find that I have to start all over because I wasted a bunch of points on a useless skill. The information on the skills provided by Disney are a joke. I plan to rely on the experience of the players to decide how to finalize my build.

So, post your Voodoo doll build here and provide some insite on how you play it if needed.

Here is a template. You should have a total of 26 points to spend on this skill. At level 1 you get 1 point in poke and 1 point in attune, then you get 1 point from 2 to 25 for an additional 24 points. Use (0/5) for a skill you do not take.

I have not finalized my build yet. So far, this is what I am planning:

I am not sure if I really like this build. I am thinking that this might be a nice skill to use for support. This plan has some damage aspects to it with poke and swarm. This might work OK if I plan to solo with this some and team with this some.

My other option is:

(4/5) Attune
(1/5) Poke
(1/5) Swarm
(5/5) Heal
(3/5) Curse
(0/5) Scorch
(5/5) Cure
(4/5) Grave Shackles
(3/5) Life Drain

(0/5) Focus
(0/5) Spirit Ward

This build would give me poke and swarm to simply allow me to level the skill. It is low damage with lots of healing power and would not be used much solo except for life drain. Curse would allow me to increase the damage of the other members of my crew and shackles to lock down an unexpected add until we were ready to deal with it. I would only really consider Curse if it increases the damage of the staff too. If someone can confirm this, it would be helpful. If it only helps increase damage with the voodoo doll, I will probably drop curse. Not sure where I would put the points yet.

What builds work for you?

If I had the ability to respec my doll now this is the hybrid spec I would go with. I don't use my doll to dps, I use it as a support/utility tool. You could drop the spirit ward points for more cure if you're not interested in pvp.

Curse adds 30% damage that character takes from all damage types, not just the doll. 1/5 curse is a must.

definatie 5/5 life drain also id go with at least 3 attune but 4 is good, unlock cure and heal but i wouldnt put more than 1 or 2 sp on each 5/5 poke and swarm

That's all I have for The Dodger. I hate seeing empty circles, so I'll always put a point in all the skills save the passives or combos.

Mine:

(2/5) Attune - *one to heal and one to kill*
(5/5) Poke - Max for faster kills - up to 325 damage
(5/5) Swarm - Max for faster kills - up to 500 damage
(2/5) Heal - Good heals (up to 375 with 2 dots)
(0/5) Curse - dont work much IMO (actually did 2 on Angel and didnt notice a difference)
(0/5) Scorch - Same
(1/5) Cure - gives 600 cure, and with heal, how many more u really need?
(1/5) Grave Shackles - Fun in PVP....especially taunting ur friends lol
(5/5) Life Drain - Excellent when ur helping a low lvl train and u cant heal fast enough

(5/5) Focus - Helps on staff and doll
(0/5) Spirit Ward - My Hex on gun takes care of this for me.

My take on my doll is mostly for healing and defeating gray lvl enemies. After maxin my doll on Angel at an early lvl, I found its the easiest and funnest thing to max for me. The way I have it set up I can use it more for healing and power hitting. I also found Curse and scorch wasnt that effective, so on Hunter I chose not to take them. I have better places to use the dots lol.

Some nice builds here.

I have not played at higher levels yet, so I am not sure how usefull I think spirit ward is. A few of you seem to have it though so I am wondering how helpful you think it is.

Focus from what I can tell only gives you an extra 40 voodoo points when you use all five dots. That just seems like a waste to me so I wanted to pass on that.

I think I will stick closer to my first build. It is really close to Angel's build but I get 4 extra points because I am not choosing Focus. (I have 1 on curse and Angel does not)

This option is taking 1 from heal to max life drain. I think I will use this. Not max damage but I should be able to attune 2 mates and 2 baddies. Good heals and good damage. Life drain maxed to heal me as much as possible when solo.

I really don't understand the need for more than 1 in cure. It takes forever to recharge. I think maxed heal, and 1 cure is good for most healing needs. I only use cure in emergencies, when their health is depleating faster than I can heal.

I dont use all my skill points with my pirates, so I don't know how I would use all 25 points.

I dont mind skillin up the doll for faster kills since its so easy to get reps on it. Im actually having a hard time keepin the level down on all my pirates (that arent mastered on it yet). Heck one chain is worth about 20 reps!

Focus seems like a waste... the 8 vodoo/point is a drop in the bucket for most hexes and once you get the staff, you build up vodoo faster (and those passives help with regen and vodoo used). I'm finding I like Spirit Ward since the random resist does come in handy (but be warned you can also resist healing too) but I wouldn't put more than 1 or 2 points in it.

5 on attune stretches things a little too far, I would say stop at 4 (with the max being 3 heal and 1 attack or 3 attack and 1 heal)

I did more leveling by healing people and doing low damage attacks (like curse and grave shackles) then actually running around attuning things. I did try the kiting method but it seemed like a lot of running around for little reward (except a cramped hand).

I have 4 ea on heal and cure and can do 600 to 1200 points if I only attune one person.

I'm thinking the reason why you would want to max heals and cures (even though they offer such a large heal power) is because the amount heal is split up if you are healing multiple crew mates at once. I am just speaking theoretically though.

Cure takes a while though: since I'd put no more than two additional in the art of Attunement, I'd use Heal for the health: Cure takes its place with me as a status buff. Hence, we have a 3/5 Attune, 5/5 Heal, and a 1/5 Cure. Granted, I have a new build for the namesake League:

3/5 Attune

5/5 Poke
/5 Swarm
5/5 Heal
1/5 Curse
1/5 Scorch
1/5 Cure
/5 Grave Shackles
5/5 Life Drain

0/5 Focus
0/5 Spirit Ward

21/26-The Grave Shackles might be a precious commodity, as they would be quite a hindrance in PVP for that respective time period. However, the quick Swarm between every poke might be something... I need the durations of the Grave Shackle times. Anyone know where to find them? Better yet, I'll just hurry up and get there with the test Dog.
