I'm tired of what you guys are calling stowaways or as I refer to them, *Ship Jumpers*, getting on my ship. I recently wrote to POTC about it and this is what I said.
***
This is concerning Ship Jumpers.
I am tired of people jumping on my ship without permission. There are a couple of ways they do this, and I'm sure you know what they are. They either click on your name before you launch and then wait a couple minutes and then come to you, or they sail up beside you and click on your name when they get close enough.
I have been sunk by players doing this. I may have but one other person on the ship with me and have my ship positioned so I can use a cannon and be firing at an Ironwall or other large enemy. Someone then jumps on my ship and either starts firing at another ship that then starts to attack me or grabs my wheel and starts to move my ship before I can get the wheel back from them. As I said I have been sunk like this and lost good plunders.
*** Some people may be tolerant of this behavior but, I am not.*** I think it's rude of people to do this. They don't have the courage to sail their own ship and get their own plunder. They aren't polite enough to ask if they can come aboard. This is just plain rude. I have reported a few people for doing this AND I am going to Continue to REPORT them for doing it.
You either need to make some sort of BLOCK so people cannot JUMP on another Players ships without either being on their Friends list or in the crew or Their Guild.
It is Annoying and very upsetting when they do this and I get very ****ed about it.
So, like I said I am going to keep reporting people who Jump On my ship without permission.

*** Maybe POTC will get the HINT that they need to resolve this or just keep getting complaints and reports about people that do it.***

Make it simple. Have on every "Would u like to go to XPerson" and on the receiving end, the person would have to approve or deny. Simple. End the jumpers all together!! It would also solve a few other issues as well

If you dont want someone to come to your ship just ignore them by clicking on the persons name, or person, and go to ignore. Now they cant teleport to you...but they can to your friends. Just tell your friends to ignore him also, or you'll ignore them. Problem solved.

Angry Ship Jumpers...GRRRR!!!!

That doesn't quite work CrazyGuy, when they sail up beside you and click on your avatar and come to you that way now does it? The Problem is NOT solved. We're NOT talking about people from our friends list, because I dont just allow every Tom, **** and Harry on my friends list. Which is a whole other subject intirely. Read these posts a little more carefully and you'll understand what the problem is.

Well it works for me. And I know they dont have to be on your friends list, thats why I said to click on the person. Like when they'er on your ship and then drop them off somewhere. They shouldnt be able to teleport to you, becasue they never come back to me. I know you cant block them the first time around, but after you have access to their name, you can.

Crazyguy, you were not online yesterday when we had a stowaway on Krispy's ship. As several of the guild members were there, I am not even sure which of us he teleported to. We had just set sail, so Krispy had to turn around to evict him. After we ported, he tried to be my friend. Both Krispy and I made comments to him but they were completely ignored.

The really annoying part is that these players are often kids who can not see our chat due to the parental controls. Although I'm sure many are griefers, some might truly be kids who don't realize that they are annoying others, they just think they are having fun. It would be very helpful if there was a way for the ship's captain to evict stowaways and/or griefers.

Whatever, I'm still reporting them. Maybe they'll learn not to behave like jerks and stop boarding peoples ships without permission.

You cannot control stowaways by ignore unless they are stalking you. They can click on you before you board your ship on the docks or beach on the sly. When you are safely on your ship.. voila'..... they hit the go to button and proceed to make your life junky.

if he knew better all he had to do was remove you from steering
which as captain he can do.

Our guild was out sinking any ship we could find that wasnt already being fired on over level 20 on a war frigate. We 'tagged' a revenant and got turned head on to it. About that time, a little light frigate pulled up next to us and started shooting at the ship, presumeably to leech some rep. He wasnt high enough in level or in a big enough ship to solo the revenant, so he decided to leech off our kills in safety.

Being the nice guy I am, I left my gun and TP'd to his ship in order to pilot his ship to safer waters. I TP'd back to my own ship after delivering him far, far away from where we were fighting, closer to ships of his own level.

I didnt try to get him sunk, I just made it perfectly clear that I would not allow him to leech off us. We didnt see him the rest of the night.

The ability to TP to anyone you can click on can either be used to enforce a 'code of conduct' or as a griefing tool. 'Fixing' it will take care of some problems and make other problems worse.

Smile Stowaway vs friend of a friend

I must agree that it is frustrating to have a stowaway just pop up on ones ship, and I'm all for marooning on Cutthroat/Padres or forcing them to walk the plank! But there are times when you do want/need more crew members, and if they ask nicely, or one of your current crew invites some one to help out, then that's all well and good.

The problem lies mainly with people's manners, or more specifically, their lack of manners. I think that it's perfectly ok for someone to come aboard and politely ask if they can join your crew. As a matter of fact, I have done it myself; when a friend of mine was sailing with someone I didn't know I teleported to my friend aboard the ship, and then, before I touched anything, I immediatly asked the captain if I could join the party, so to speak. The captain graciously agreed, crewed me, and I sailed with them for the better part of an hour; I got lots of gold, and leveled up my cannon skills to boot. However, had the captain said no, and asked me to leave, I would have thanked them, and left like they had asked

And if a crew member of mine has a friend that they want on board, then they ought to ask before inviting them, it's only polite. However, if I'm short on crew I probably won't say no to another good gunman! But there are times when I would; for instance, I had one person tp to one of my crewmates and try to take my ship from me, when I took it back all he did was whine about wanting to sail. When I foolishly allowed him to take the helm, he immediatly sunk us with a nearly full cargo hold!

I do agree that there ought to be a system in place to get rid of bad stowaways (The plank and the brig are both phenomonal ideas, and should both be implemented), but at the same time, there are some good stowaways out there, and they should be given the chance to prove themselves worthy to join your crew. Just don't be so quick to judge them all as ****roaches!

I saw walk the plank. Its a piraty thing to do!! Now I dont mind a stowaway, as long as they dont get rude or tell me to F Off. Plus if they ask, hey, I'll crew u!! I've had a guy on teh next ship ask if he could join, hes now a good friend on my F list. Its all in the manner it was approached.

JUMPERS NOT WELCOME!!!

If someone hops onto my ship without asking I'll be annoyed. IF they can shoot straight and follow orders at which ship to target then I'm ok with it....BUT when they're launching grappling hooks at the War Frigate bearing down on me I get annoyed. I'll run to the nearest landing place and TP away.

It would be nice to have a "walk the plank" option for stowaways available for the ship's Captain.

Just the other day, I had people shooting at multiple things. I had a lv 35 and a lv 15 coming after me, and I took both on with out getting hit. The whole I was fighting two ships at a time, and surpisingly, I didnt get hit a single time.

Now try 4 lvl 25+ ships coming at you in groups of 2 from both sides with the juggernaut in front of you. It sucked so bad i just logged off right after i was so ****ed off. My stowaways liked to shoot at evry whip they could find. lost like 3k in ship reapairs in one day due to all these kind of stowaways.
