Guild Update 12/7/10
Ahoy partners!
Del again. Just wanted to give you all a briefing on all you need to know, guild-wise. Three-Year Anniversary Recap A big thank you to all those pirates that came out to make it such a special night even more special for our guild! For the first time in a while, it warmed my heart to experience lag. I once again give a hearty congratulations to all of those who were promoted, and/or won awards. In case any of you forgot:
Also, a further note. At the Anniversary, I was unable to announce who won Guild Artist, because, for the first time ever, there was a tie on the tie breaker poll! So, I'll be ending it in a truce, with Crest and Rose as the winners! Congrats mates, and to everybody! Guild Events For those members that have been asking me, yes, our annual Holiday Party is in the works. Grace and I will start talking things over soon as to when it will be held, where, and how we'll go about it. Next, concerning the Guild Quest. I would like to thank all of those who are currently participating in it for their help in making it the most popular guild quest yet! The current stance of the grand prize, weighting all of the completions and fails alike, as well as a generous donation by Dog, is 117,000 gold! However, don't be so relaxed yet - there's still PLENTY of it to go! Partner of the Week Yes, I know. The reasoning behind me not doing POTW for the past two months, is due to the Anniversary. I had to suspend it for November and Late October in order for me to gather nominations for who to put in to the polls, as well as decide who should recieve the promotions. Expect the poll to make it's return in a week or two  Guild Recruitment I really like the progression in the guild we've been having over the past few weeks. We've gone from about 125 to right below 140, and each of them being top quality members. Least to say, I'm very, very happy with what I'm seeing I would, again, like to stress to people of recruiting powers, to not recruit any random person you see. If you wanto to recruit somebody, I would like it if you would get to know the person, and then judge whether they are able to mix well with our guild - outgoing, kind, good spelling and grammar is a plus, and of course, no downers. Downers and PNC do not mix  I was also thinking about planning another Guild Recruitment Day down the line. Not necessarily soon, but seeing as how the last one we had was a great success, I can say we should try it again sometime. Other Topics Currently, I am working on a few new projects that I'm hoping to get done before the new year. This includes a guild member list (following the "Name/Level/Rank/POF" Format, as tradition in here goes,) an overview of our guild's history, and other minor things. Also, keep a weathered aye on the subforum! I'm going to start planning some more monthly activities/guild contests like we used to do, starting in the next few months. Lastly. I've been getting a lot of this, and, after awhile, I've decided to post my speech from the Anniversary, as it was intended to be said (curse you censorship!), and for history's sake. Enjoy Partners by Delmaria Darkskull Well, we made it. We as a guild have been through many different tests in our three years. Tests which have attempted to break the bonds of enduring friendship, and the values of a true family that we have strived to create for all of our members over the years. Through manipulation, deception, violence, and distrust, they stopped at nothing to ensure our downfall. And they failed. They failed not only because we are the elite, the greatest and strongest warriors to sail these seas, but because we have what truely matters - heart. With every trouble and adversary we have faced, no matter how many of them there were or how mighty their weapons of words and swords alike, they lacked the will that our guild thrives on each and every day. The will of those are are so strongly devoted to protecting their fellow mates, their brothers and sisters, that they would lie themselves before the front of an oncoming army, if it were to preserve what our guild stands for, not only for each other, but for every guild in the Caribbean. We stand today as a beacon, for any of those that were ever doubted, or spat at, or cursed at, or looked down upon, or felt they were alone. We stand for those that ever had their names dragged through the mud, for those that have stared fear in the face and laughed. We are those who fight for what is right when society thinks it is wrong, not only as pirates in this game, but as living, breathing human beings, as a person behind the screen. We are here, that whoever thought themselves to be worthless or useless, or that there was no hope, may look to us, and be shown that there will always be a light at the end of the tunnel. Our resiliency and determination to fly our colors high is a way to say that there still are people in this world who aren't afraid to not care what others think of them. I stand in this room today, looking not at avatars, but at people. Good, kind hearted people. And being in this room, giving support for us, shows me that each and every one of you that are here today to stand with us, are beyond the characteristics that makes an amazing, loyal friend and companion. Whether you wear our guild tag under your name or not, we consider each and every one of you family as we do our own members. We are pirates for now, but we'll be partners forever. To all of those have ever told us were never going to make it, that doubted us, that tried to stop us, I stand here today, and I laugh in your face. And to those of you that ever stood by us, supported us, or simply wished us good luck, and especially to all my partners, I can only describe my feelings in to two words. Thank you. Hey Del, when i was wondering if i could join, you said your guild has ~230 people. now, you say you have ~135. also, you said someone has tried to split apart your guild through mistrust, manipulation, and what not.
was someone trying to destroy your guild? if so, i know someone who can take out guilds. of course, i only ask him to do so if someone threatens us. would you like me to ask him to take them out? we cant have guilds who go around attacking guilds. |

Nobody ever attacked us. When did he say we had ~230 people? I think he may have been referring to PIC, the old guild.

OH okay.
I hate guild destruction to, but i thought someone may be trying to destroy your guild, and i cant see why any guild would attack yours. so i figured they may just be attacking for no reason, and we cant have guilds like that in the game. |

By that part of the speech, I was refering to guilds that we've had to deal with in the past that were less-than-truthful in how they acted towards us.
The highest amount of members PIC ever had was 136, and the higest amount PNC ever had is our current number, 139. People have definately tried to destroy us in the past. But I will NEVER, EVER resort to destroying a fellow pirate's guild to exact revenge. I think that's perhaps the most cruel thing you could ever do to somebody, no matter how justified you may think it is. I find it sickening. If you want to join, then you can do so by posting on our Recruitment thread. |

Good luck there guys! Ok, so maybe PNC isn't the most massive guild in the Caribbean... but your by far one of the best! And thats all that matters. You have some of the best members anyone could ask for, and that is what makes a great guild. If you ever need me, I'll be there for you guys. A good year this was, and to many more to come! Drinks are on me tonight! And don't get used to me sayin' that!
And I would like to thank you guys again for electing me as the Honorary Partner. It is an honor indeed. |
