Treasure sense complainers, nothing is "wrong"
Ok so I was reading one of the MANY treasure sense not working threads and I went online and realized treasure sense doesn't help you get more royal chest and loot skull chests no, it helps the things inside them have a better percent of being better.

When it comes to this game I have too much time on my hands. That said I have done many experiments in this very area of interest. The bottom line is this:
The more skill points in treasure sense the higher the rate of royal chests and loot dropped. Period. Don't believe me then do the experiment your self. Here is how to to it: 1. Pick a ship to plunder with(bigger the better). 2. Start with zero treasure sense. 3. Choose an enemy ship to sink. 4. Sink that ship 10 times. 5. Record results of cargo / loot dropped. 6. Determine average of cargo / loot dropped. Repeat above while adding one skill point in treasure sense each time. The results will prove your theory above to be wrong. One of my pirates has the Golden Charm(+3 Treasure sense) and max treasure sense. For a total of 8 Treasure sense. I get no less then 1 skull chest per run. I get a load of full royals in about 15-25 mins sailing. I sail in the Hinterseas only. I have received up to 4 skull chests in a single run. The lost sword has been found on my ship 6 times that I know of. Again the proof is in the pudding. Go forth and make some pudding! |

Yup, theory is wrong. I agree with Rannulf, and also, using a Charm that gives you 6 treasure sense breaks it, giving you crates all the time. I believe more than 6 treasure sense works, but not 6. I'm not sure why. :P

Statics will bear me out if ye try. I sail on various random servers all the time. Baldomero's Ships are the Vagrant Viking (war frigate) and the Storm Dancer (war galleon). Also I forgot to mention for treasure sense to work ye need to be sure to hit the ship with a broadside. |

![]() Back on topic, I agree with all that Rannulf has said. I also think that most of the people that think their TS is broken are just a tad impatient. Presuming you maxed it out, so that you have 25% better loot drop boost, that just means you have a quarter chance of getting a royal chest over anything else. It does not automatically mean that you're always going to get royal chests everywhere all the time. The ships you typically sink also play a role in that too. |

I wouldn't say that ALL the time. I wholeheartedly believe that my above theory (that 6 treasure sense doesn't work) is true. For instance: While sailing today I filled up my cargo hold and sailed back without sinking any more ships. This was without a charm. I had about 5 royals, 4 chests and 6 crates. I then did it with a charm (giving me 6 treasure sense). It gave me: 9 crates, 3 chests, and a royal. I'm convinced that's true. Using a higher sea charm used to improve upon my first run, though. (I accidentally sold my Famed sea charm...)
