2 new ideas for sailing
sailing is missing a few things that happened in the movies first ship stealing my idea for this is just before a ship sinks occasionally a green circle appears on the mast even though you already have the treasure if a cannoneer hits the circle with a grapple hook they leave the rest of the crew behind along with their share of the plunder on the deck of the sinking ship most enemies are fleeing you kill the remaining enemies and sail it back to a port then you can get the shipwright to fix it you then go to a dinghy select stolen and select your new ship but pirates can sink it because it is stolen and if it sinks the plunder comes from the captains pocket and you can also find enemies on it occasionally but you can get close to npc ships and they dont attack you and you can attack pirates but if it sinks you cant fix it
uses 1. getting better ships 2. disguise 3. fun my next idea is weather what happens is you see wind blowing stuff about and rain getting things wet but you can also get damaged by weather like when lightning hits your ship it takes damage and whirlpools suck your ship in and if it hits the middle your ship sinks uses 1. fun 2. making sea battles down to luck as well as skill tell me what you think of my ideas improve on them and add your own |

I think we should go back to what we had before where we could see the enemy crew and be able to shoot them with our new weapons such as muskets and grenades to sink the ship. So such as if we defeated all the cannoneers the cannons would stop and we could sink the enemy ship.

Kafufle, I like your other idea about kegs (I think that was you) and such, but this seems a bit off from the sailing part. In the movies, Jack only uses ships from the Navy in order to get back to the Pearl, and if you got on a navy/eitc/skeleton ship there would be crew, possible quite high level enemy crew (Can you see a LVL5 trying to board a LVL49 Juggy) and if the pirate ship is attacking the navy/eitc/skeleton ship then once you boarded, you'd be blown to smithereens, causing many players to become angry with their crew.
Then about weather, this might make some players just sit next to a Juggy or a Death Omen in a light sloop, fire one broadside, then wait for the weather to kill it. Also, most people like having to have skill, for it makes it balanced so a navy bulwark can't kill my War Galleon. Although Ofury/Tom's idea was awesome to do in the old POTCO, where you could pick off canoneers and such. I remember once my crew shot the driver of a flagship, and all the people on it and we won. Plus, take cover says that players on the ship are immune to damage, then we should be able to be hit by cannons. I just think your ideas need some tweaking. |

I agree with Tom. I used to love being able to see the enemies aboard other ships. Whenever me and my crew would go plundering I would just stand on our ship and throw my 'nades and throwing knives at the suckers. I miss a lot of things from the old days. ):

Here is another you might add for ship PvP before we sink the ship we can bored it and defeat the other team pirates! Maybe only when its night and you turn to a skeleton.

I did something like that in a pvp glitch titanic, but ive been thinking that for a while. But you get to choose what to board and then you can capture the ship and it becomes the opposite of what the crew was, spanish goes to french, french to spanish, thats why one man stays behind, to keep the ship in control. While the ship is in the enemies hands it can't be boarded by the owner until it is sunk.
