Fun in the Catacombs and misc. (Alot of pictures)

New thread, different pictures. These are quite a few screenshots I've taken in POTCO, with some new glitches and other stuff. Let's begin, shall we?

You'd think that Jolly Roger, with all of his plans to conquer the Caribbean, would know not to let his best fighters go to waste like this..

I've decided that when going undercover among the undead, you need to blend in with the environment.

Either that or you can dance with them...It seems to be working for that crazed Navy Sergeant in the group.

Quote:
It's worked for me countless times...

Quote:
See how much this Flytrap enjoys my generic dancing skills!

Quote:
Ahh! I'm on fire!

Quote:
This guy is trying to act tough by flexing his...uh..bones.

Quote:
This guy on the other hand, is not so tough. (hears "We Surrender!" in head)

Quote:
July 14-Why, these creatures seem rather intelligent! During the afternoon I had a jolly good chat with one. It expressed its concerns about the rising death toll of his fellow companions and the sickening act of taking "loot" from the dead bodies by these .. these..poachers. It was very interesting. The creature was sad when he had to leave to participate in the daily "voodoo ritual dances and raids". I can't wait to see what happens tommorrow. -Professor Willibus's Journal page 16

Ah! More Fire!

Quote:
And now... with this new device, I shall rule the world! (laughs evilly)

Quote:
Aww...Isn't this the cutest giant man-eating crab?

Well, that's the last of them. What do you guys think?

All I did was make my character laugh, and when he was bent over, took a screenshot.

Charle88, how would you like to begin studies to create a complete bestiary of all Jolly Roger's critters?

Sure! How soon can it get published?

Here's the rough draft for the Undead Gravedigger!
Quote:
Undead Gravedigger-levels 1-3

The undead Gravedigger is the backbone of Jolly Roger's army of undead clones. It's armed with a pointy dagger with which it likes to poke you with. It resides in Port Royal where it secretly owns a beachfront house to watch the sunsets in. We know very little about it, other than its name, dental records, the fact that it loves the color grey, hates the number 4, and social security number. In life it was a guy named Bob, who loved to dig up random items. That's why Jolly Roger uses it to dig up dead bodies.

Threat Level:Are you kidding me!? This thing, a threat?!

Umm... Maybe a little less nutty...

How about...

These creatures have intrigued me for a long time. How have they survived all these years when they're slaughtered so often and have little to no defense? Time to begin studies...

More on that later.

Here's the less nutty but long end report on Undead Gravediggers then.

Quote:
June 14- It appears that the creatures I have been watching are just a small part of a giant organization. Why, they are probably part of the lowest chain of command, simply faceless cogs in a machine. As they tirelessly work in their area of operations, it became more and more apparent that they are working to dig up the bodies of the dead. When working, they seem to assign"lookouts" to the outer parameter of their operation to spot any potential threats These "lookouts", when spotting a threat, will usually yell out a phrase (such as "Intruder!") and run to confront the enemy. They will attempt to ward of the intruder by using simple hacks and slashes from their dagger. If that doesn't work, then they will start attacking more ferociously. Though lightly armed, they can still cause damage to anyone unfortunate enough to come in their way. The other creatures, what I call the diggers, always seem oblivious to their surroundings and will not attack unless provoked. Once a digger has uncovered a corpse, they will let out a strange cry or groan. Two of the other creatures will then come to that digger and pick upthe newly uncovered corpse. These "carriers" then transport said corpse into the nearby jungle. I have yet to make an attempt to follow them, though I plan to do so soon. I cannot but wonder wht they then do to that corpse. It also brings up another question, why to they base their operations in areas easily accessible to any armed personal? Soon I hope to find out. -Professor Willibus's journal

July 15, I have followed a small band of 'carriers' into the jungle. They do not, however, stop there. They continue into Murky Hollow. It now appears that they are taking them to Jolly Roger's emissary on Port Royal: General Bloodless. There, they place the bodies, which are then placed in mounds around a central area. Several of the Undead Witchdoctors in the area then proceed to dance and chant around the bodies. I have yet to decipher their language, and therefore am unable to find out what they say. I do know however, that this chant somehow raises the bodies back to life- or rather, a mockery of life.

July 16, As I study these creatures (Gravediggers), it becomes more and more apparent that they have an unusual, loosely hierarchal chain of command. The strongest (Usually male, though not always) is leader. He watches over the proceedings and makes sure that intruders are dealt with properly. In return, they are showed utmost respect from his/her followers. However, the position is a precarious one. Any who decides to do so, may challenge the leader. As a safeguard a foreigner, having slain the leader, does not take his place unless they announced the challenge first. I challenged the leader of the group on Port Royal, and while it was hardly a contest, he did put up a better fight than any of the others would have.

As is the ritual when a new leader is chosen, I am bowed to repeatedly by several of the group before they return to their work. Another curiosity I've noticed is that sometimes, an Undead Bandit will become leader. As Gravediggers are usually closed to outsiders, this is a very unusual practice. I shall have to research this...

July 16, Entry Number Two, First, I would like to announce that I have finally begun to understand their language. Having nearly finished with Gravediggers, I've decided to follow their task-masters, Undead Bandits. The Bandits, unlike the Gravediggers, have a strict hierarchy, which does not allow for rebellion of any form. These vicious creatures are pack predators of sorts, crafty, but not incredibly intelligent. As such, it is not easy to insert oneself into Bandit society. It has taken me hours, but finally, they are beginning to trust me (Or possibly fear me). Now, I'm going out on the occasional raid with them.

They have a supreme hatred of the Navy that they say are 'encroaching' on their territory. These strange little creatures are not doing well however, in their raids. Fatalities at the hands of pirates make it all the more difficult. This has led a two tribes of them, one in Tortuga Graveyard and another in the Governor's Garden, to begin training alligators for war, breeding them in a small pond where they are starting to multiply. This suggests that they may be more intelligent than has been suggested before. I am eager to figure out just what their mental capacity is.

Remember that one picture where I said that Jolly Roger's soldiers are getting obese, well, it's spread to Davy Jone's crew too..

An epic fight against two epic bosses.(Why are the bosses so ridiculously huge anyways!?)

Keeper of the Code, you seem interested in making a Professor Willibus entry, so why not make a thread about it in the Sailor's Yarn? I might make another entry here tommorrow if I take some good screenshots.

That's an interesting idea. Who is this Professor Willibus anyway? Oh, and about those bosses? Maybe the generals are ol' Jolly's sons? Probably not, but it's an idea.
