Congrats.
I'm almost a level 18, I'm only 300 points away, but I've been so busy I haven't found the time to get on POTCO.

Do as much as you can on Port Royal. That's my best advice.

You can get bigger potions faster, with less work you might have on the other islands. On the other islandsy ou'll have the lava or gold potions in your way. I've been able to get six souls before on port royal, when I was only going after one potion, the blue grab essence. While trying to get the crab, I piled up a lot of the purple/red scorpion potions so that I received six souls. And if three souls combine, you get ten extra rep. It was a big surprise for me, because it was an accident. Anyways, PR is probably the best place to go for "Any island" potions. And what I'd do, to keep yourself busy, is use a few of all the potions just for fun, and go back and fill them all back up. I did this and was so focused on getting the potions back I got to level 17, and almost to level 18. I'm still not at level 18, though, because I've been extremely busy. |

On Test I leveled up by using the swift foot potions, as well as growing grog. I'm not sure if those are good now (I'm only 14 on Live), but that way helped me master first on Test.
As others say though, Port Royal is the best for simpler potions. Cuba, Padres and Tortuga all add in a fourth ingredient, making the game more challenging. What I've been doing on Live has helped me level up quickly also, use up some potions, remake them. If you don't wanna do that, just try to get 5 of every type. |

I use the swift foot potions and some other ones that give decent rep and don't take very long to make for leveling. I often sell them when they are filled up and re do them. A little extra gold is nice.
Congrats on reaching level 18. |

I mastered potions when Ravens Cove first came out. Then I was lv 12, spent a little time playing and got to lv 13. The next day, took several hours, I actually went from 13 to 20. I just kept making potions I didn't have all 5 of and then made swift foot, as others said. Luckily for me though, while doing the potions, I found a short cut to making some of the tougher potions and getting all the rep for making them.
