It means you are being protected from combat attack, this move is used by another player using a voodoo doll. Hope that helps.

Why is it lasting so long? It's been a little while since I was in any combat.

Probably just a glitch that it is lasting so long. Someone probably used it on you earlier, and it never went away.

Actually that's Hex Ward, an for some oddball reason it sometimes sticks around.

That's Hex Ward and what happened is someone used it on him and he changed servers. The same thing would occur if an enemy used Grave Shackles on you and you changed servers, you would still have grace shackles permanently.

Since this is a newer type of skill that came with the new dolls it's probably a simple fix.

I don't want them to fix it. Grave shackles and purple fog... It's like the dead are returning to us this eve.

Lol, I couldn't resist... Anyway like those guys were saying, anytime you switch servers with a special animation like this one in effect, it tends to stay. You can create some crazy effects with a little effort.
