Why Don't I Get My Share?!
Am I not correct in understanding that on land if you are involved in a fight and there is a pouch/chest/skull chest dropped, everyone involved (i.e. everyone that inflicted damage on the enemy) can loot said drop?
That being said, if I'm correct then shouldn't that be the same concept when getting drops at sea? I've missed out on MANY drops when I've been out on public ships trying to earn Monica some extra gold. Several times there would only be a couple of us on the ship and therefore ample cannon time. We'd have a few pouches and chests and upon porting, when the 'plunder' screen appears, there is no area for the drops...only the breakdown of the crates, treasure chests and royals. I understand that if I am manning cannons on the starboard side and a drop comes from an enemy defeated on the port side I may not get a share of the drop. But if I'm the one hitting the ship as the drop happens why do I not get a share in the end? Maybe I'm just misunderstanding something. But I kind of feel like I'm being cheated out of loot I earned...

For sea based drops you must hit the ship to get the loot. If you are on the left and the ship dropping loot is on the right you will not get it. If you are the captain and do not broadside the ship or hit it with ramming speed you will not get loot. Also, hitting a ship as the drop happens will not count, you have to hit it before the drop.

Thank you for a very detailed response! =) At least I know I understand the system correctly. It's apparently something they need to work on, on the Disney end of things, that probably won't get fixed. I've no problem with not getting a share if I don't get hits in on the ship, but I do have a problem with being out for extended periods of time grinding away and not getting any share of the drops. Might get on live chat about it, though I have a feeling that will only get me a 'drops are random, blah blah blah' response and not an actual reasoning or attempt at a fix...

You are correct Stella - this is a new bug. I'd be very surprised if the mouse fixes it. The current programming team doesn't seem to understand the changes it is making. Getting them to understand and recognize it as a problem is a herculean task; getting them to admit it is now wrong is far-fetched; getting them to actually fix it? We'll sooner see the Kraken they promised three years ago.

Well said Edward, well said. I still have a ton of fun playing the game and don't intend to quit unless I can't afford my annual payment, but I also expect to get my money's worth in the game and when I'm not getting what I rightfully earn it begins to bug me. /sigh and /shrug. We shall wait and see what happens, I suppose. =)

The captain of the ship receives a bonus. This bonus extends to cargo as well. If you launch your own ship but have someone else sail it, you will see an increase in your loot. Sail it yourself but leave the closest cannon available to you and you alone. Just a thought
