Launch window problems?

Anyone having problems getting the launcher window to open? I double click on my desktop .exe icon and it shows the little 'retrieving info' rectangle for a split second, and should then proceed to show me the launch window but it doesn't. Have tried multiple times to open it as well as restarted the computer 3 or 4 times. Nothing running in the background that isn't always running anyways...maybe a problem on Disney's end?

Anyone else having an issue today?

It's fine for me, it may be on your end. Reinstalling the game may work, other than that I'm not sure.

My launcher FINALLY decided to open and the following is displayed:

"We are currently experiencing unexpected network issues (outside of our control). You may experience interruptions during your gameplay today. Rest assured we are doing everything we can to quickly resolve the problem. We apologize for any inconvenience."

I think Disney knows when I have a day off with nothing to do but play Pirates, because these kinds of things seem to happen on those days. LOL.

I've had problems myself, Stella. And a couple times that I was able to get through, the game tells me I have Basic access. The problem there is, I'm Unlimited access!

o.O I'd be highly upset if I was told I was basic! I think they may have released the new update too soon or that this is something involving the new update. I played yesterday with no major problems other than my ammo switching in the minigame was messed up (bug report!), but today is a no-go so I suppose it's off to the pool until this evening. =P

It was fine around 11 o'clock EST this morning when I logged off. So this happened probably around the time I logged off for lunch.

Well I got an email back from them after submitting my bug report about launcher problems:

Hi Pirate Pal,

Thanks for writing to us! We're sorry to hear that you are experiencing some issues with the game right now. We are aware that as of June 30th, some of our guest's are experiencing issues logging into the game. This is due to a compatibility issue between anti-virus software programs and our game. We are aware of the issue and our doing our best to resolve it. Please try logging in again in a little bit.

If you have another issue that is separate from this known log in issue, please respond to this email and we'll help you out as soon as we can!

We thank you for your patience and understanding, bye now!

Pirates Technical Support

Which prompted me to check my launcher record. Indeed it said that my Avast Ant-ivirus software was a possible incompatibility, as well as 3 other programs which are in no way related to anti-virus software. (One is even a card game! =? ) Soooooo....we shall play the waiting game and see what they come up with for a fix for all this mess...
