Release Notes - June 16, 2010

• Cannon Defense is now available on all main islands: Port Royal, Tortuga and Padres Del Fuego.
• Help man Navy Cannons and defend the island's riches from invading enemy bandits!
• New voodoo dolls are available to plunder from defeated enemies.
• Cutlass Tutorial modified to prevent trashing the Rusty Cutlass or placing it in a different slot.
• Guild name rejection notice now shows the rejected guild name.
• Enemies no longer attack you while you play the Potion Crafting mini-game.
• Selling multiple potions will now give you gold for each potion sold.
• Drinking potions is no longer allowed while swimming.
• Fixed various Inventory-related client crashes.
• When using the Profile Card to teleport to a pirate on a ship, it now respects the ship's boarding permission settings.
• The health of attuned Pirates is now displayed on the screen with a Voodoo Doll icon

Hoping I came up on a glitch or something, but it seems like the levels reset each time you play the mini game. I have played it two times, the second so far, I dCed from the game. You also get loot from playing the games based on how you did. There is a meter called the Wealth meter. When bandits get close to the isle, they take some wealth, you have to sink them before they get away to keep it.

Update 1: Many issues with Disconnection, I tried to switch weapons and got booted, will try to change weapons again to see if that is the cause. No sign of a new doll yet.

Update 2: Tortuga cannon spots are hidden very well, it may be in the Thieves Den...

Alright everyone, it looks like today is the day, the big update is out and so it the Navy's Cannons game! You play the game by going to a guy by the flag near the fort. It looks like about five people can play at once. It works quite similar to regular cannoning on a ship, except you can shoot six rounds before reloading instead of three. You level just the same as everything else, and I think you can get new ammo types when you level up, but since I have basic access only the regular shot was available. I played on Padres Del Fuego, and it was pretty hard, but I guess it might be easier on other islands. The first time I crashed before I could sink anything, but I logged in again and was able to get to level two. Have fun!

Okay, I have some additional information. I rejoined the game after I leveled up and I had reset to level one. Also, it looks like you can get several more ammo types, I think four with basic access and many more with unlimited, but, the only other problem is that you have to but it with "cash" that only exists in the mini-game. As of now I haven't gotten enough to buy the next ammo up. It also seems to have many bugs, as I crashed again.

KK Tok, sorry to take your credit. Darn Tortuga cannon spot... The bills are made by hitting enemy ships, but they still do not seem to be very quick about being handed out. I don't see how you could get really high level ammos at the rate you get these.

Too many DC issues, doing any action, even talking to NPC's is rather risky.

yeah I've been crashing constantly. I really hope the level reset is a bug, because if it's not I think it'll get really annoying. It only gives you a certain amount of the better ammo, anyone check to see if they're selling them in the shops?

Still hoping to be able to use these ammos out on the sea in the future, but I have not seen them in stores.

Great update! I was looking forward to seeing some screenshots in the threads but nobody posted nothing.

Here are some screenshots:

Found the Cannonmaster in Tortuga's Graveyard.
Port Royal's game will be in Fort Charles.
Padre Del Fuego's game will be at Fort Dundee.
Both Forts' Cannonmaster are Navy NPC!



Approach the Cannonmaster and click Play Cannon Defense



First time in action..



Something worth a second look to get a thorough feel of the game.
(Didn't have much time to look through it in game because there wasn't enough time)



It's like the Ship Repair game where more than one player can join in. Hope nobody sees it as a rep stealing mini game Lol.

I'm right with you on this one BBW. Best mini game yet. I think the cannon levels will be reset every time. It seems to me that each time you start the game, you start at the beginning and the levels pertain to that particular game. I love it. I think I've gotten up to level 9 or 10. Got the scattershot ammo on one game.

I don't think the level reset is a bug in the cannon game. I think you have to start at the beginning each time and the bills aren't that hard to get. I have been able to buy all types of ammo. Up to the scattershot type. That's the highest level I've gotten.

Am I the only one who doesn't like this? If I wanted to play Space Invaders, I would.

I'll give it more time I guess. Doesn't help when I'm getting booted every 10 minutes or so.

Seems like a rather small update for such a grand time to be truthful. I appreciate they finally came out with it, but am wanting to see more islands as well. Good game, but for the wait, it is just a mini game.

For what it is I like it. IMO best of the mini-games so far, but there still is fishing to be released. Interesting sails on some of those bandit ships, eh?

I agree its a great update. I feel that its like the sea version of land invasion where instead of blasting off at undeads, this game has many waves of ships. and the good thing about it is we can play it anytime we want! This is for sea-combat lovers who will definitely love this game.

It is pretty challenging. Gets more challenging as more people joins in and requires more attention, no time to waste.

What distinguish this Cannon Defense from the whole game in general, is the part where we have to shake our mouse to recover from the daze!!! This ain't just a game of frantic mouse clicking. I hope they incorporate more of that feature in the game. Perhaps, where pirates getting stunned during a fight with a flotsam can shake their mouse and recover from it.

(Kinda like video shooting games in arcade where you have to shoot outside the screen to reload (well you know what I mean) or in this game House of the Dead 4, where players have to shake their guns to remove obstacle dropped on them)

Long but worth the wait for this update

* Basics can participate in the game too. Able to level up to Level 5 and unlock 2 Ammos if im not wrong
