Will you fight for better drops?
We have been here for weeks, and maybe even a few months. I know I have thrown my pirates back out, and am really sick of this new weapons system. If you ask me, it should be a challenge. Don't get me wrong, it was way too easy on Test at first, but when it first came to live it seemed to be doing well. About a week later, there were rumors of weapons being set to lower drop rates due to excess pirates attacking Dark Hart. Now we are all starting to feel that come into play even more, as we cannot hardly even loot Lost Relics and Rares.
It leaves me to wonder whether Pirates has abandoned us after giving out a set amount of rare and powerful weapons. Are planning to fix the weapons system up. Or are completely unprepared for a weapons system of any type and should just give up. Either way, it would seem like they have issues giving out weapons to their players. I cannot exactly understand why they haven't done anything about the drought yet though. It makes me wonder if they are ignoring the lowered daily player count and our comments from in-game and online chats. I can see it happening because of said reasons. But I really cannot understand why they even bother with a system of item drops that is clearly not satisfying to older and newer players. If you are fed up with this loot system, then lets make our mark. We need to do something, and playing the game and trying to get those weapons during this drought won't help. If they see a major drop in the player count in the next few days, and we bombard them with messages, they will need to do something. Do remember that "this is our game", they use that all of the time, and I really think that this stand could actually reverse the drought. This should be a good point to send them, and if you tell them that you think that this weapon drought is making it impossible to get good weapons, they will have no legs to stand against you. I am not asking you to quit playing the game, and I am not asking you to tell Disney off with your online messages. I am however asking that you at least send them a comment once a day and/or stop playing the game for a day to lower the daily player count. I can understand if you feel this is rebellious in any way, but it would be beneficial to all of your fellow pirates if you take part in this little rendezvous to get weapon drops back to at least where they were back at the beginning of when drops were added. |

I chose that I won't quit playing and will continue getting terrible items. I don't really care. The entire system is supposed to make you want to play MORE; not to quit.

I haven't voted yet, because I really don't understand what you are protesting here. However, I am leaning toward not quitting and 'continuing to get terrible items'. Are you upset at the fact that there aren't many Lost, Famed, or rare weapons? Or are you upset about the current design of the loot system?
If it's the first option.. I really don't care. They are 'rare' and 'lost' for a reason. They aren't supposed to be easy to find. Not everyone is supposed to have them. If we did, then they wouldn't be very rare. I don't mind waiting to find these weapons because it gives me something to look forward to. I have definitely found leveling more enjoyable since the loot drops. Granted they aren't always great loots but they are usually different. I do get 2 or 3 decent drops during the course of leveling which is enough to satisfy me. Now if your talking about the overall design of the loot drop system, such as the gold drops as Basil has mentioned before.. I agree that there could be some tweaking. It would be nice if gold drops went back to most every enemy and I didn't have to accept it from the chest. Same goes for the treasure drops. Another thing that bothers me is when a skull chest drops and it has no 'special items'. Now I am not upset at the fact that there are no rare weapons in that drop, it simply annoys me that it does not deserve a skull chest if there is nothing rare. Hoping that makes sense. But either way, I am not prepared to protest and make a big fuss over this. I'm still having fun playing, I am still getting decent weapons... and the issues I have are not the biggest in the world. So no, I have no intentions of sending Disney anything other than the simple suggestion I listed above. |

Aye, I like the loot and all but I play for more reasons...I will, and have been doing the feedback to Dis several times a month...and over time I have noticed some change...sose I will continue with that. Weapons are integral to most parts of the game....but they are available. Did I find all of the ones on my wish list? No. But I found some great ones..and my younger pyrates are still finding famed/blue relic ones and rares...not in every drop like that first week but hey,,,they are out there...if you think this is a drought...wait til the potion tables disappear ...lol...stock up while ye can..

Not going to complain
Sorry, it's pretty much a given that the drop rate was WAY too high before. I knew pirates who has two or three Lost Swords of El Patron alone!
It was ridiculous. Now that they have corrected it, a lot of pirates are now spoiled. So, NO I won't protest. And NO I won't stop playing. Loot is NOT the reason I play the game. EC |

Just a quick side note: In regards to the period of time during test where loot drops were often and rare items were constant.. I believe that had more to do with testing purposes than anything else. It would have taken too long to wait for people to find the rare items and test. Just my opinion though. So again, this 'drought' is most likely not a mistake. It is supposed to be a rare occasion to get the super rare drops, uncommon for the moderately rare drops, and very common for the average/useless drops.. Okay, End Side note.

I have to agree with what everyone but Raikel has said here. I remember waaaaayyyyyy back when I started playing this game in Feb of 2008. Drops were very rare then. I was lucky once to find a very very ugly green shirt and very quickly sold it. The treasure drops and money drops were at the rate they should have been. If I have to complain about anything its that the clothes they are dropping now are done too often. Rare and Lost are called such because they are suppose to be hard to find. Crud and Common are called such because they are so easy to find. If you recall, we pirates complained that we wanted more weapons. Well, now that we've got them, why complain? I have a total of 9 pirates between Open and Test and I have yet to find anything higher than a rare weapon. Not a single Lost or Relic for any of my pirates. I dont care. I'm happy we've got new weapons and something to do. Most of my pirates are no longer questing and I'm not trying to level any of them. I just go out and fight to see what I get. And believe me I'm enjoying our new gold cap!! I wouldnt do anything before because I was always maxing on gold. Now that we can have 200,000 I fight and fight and fight. I know its gonna be a while before I see any Lost or Relics, but that doesnt matter to me. The drop rate is fine for weapons, doesnt need changing. So, I will not be protesting in any form.

All of the poll options seem to be geared towards your intention of either "help towards the cause and boycott or live with getting horrible loots"
I will not stop playing, and would like to keep getting horrible loot. It does not sound like a fair poll at all. Because where is the option for us to give D some credit and support the game? I believe the first time weapon drops was implemented on Test in late March, the frequency of drops with good weapons was so high I felt that the reset was no big deal because we could get the weapons back in an hour or two. Then came the reset, where the loot drops were a notch down in quality and was hardly constant. But the next update, D made it such that the drops were stabilized to not as frequent but not as rare, which is the current loot drop system that we had. When the weapons came to test, I had fun getting them, screenshots and all. Right now, my pirates do not have many lost relics or high powerful weapons, but hello, if everyone has so many lost relics or powerful weapons, then wouldn't it then be mediocre? And someone would start a poll again asking "Should Dis reduce the loot quality" So I would say: I would keep playing and if a good weapon comes it's way then so be it and smile

I'm not surprised that Disney cut down the frequency of drops especially for rare and famed weapons. I think they gave out a lot of these weapons at first to get everyone in to the new system and make sure we all knew that these weapons could be had. Sort of a grand opening sale.
I think everyone hit the nail on the head - these weapons should be rare. Besides a lot of the crude and common weapons are very nice, much better then ones we had before. In fact there are some crude or common weapons that I prefer over many rare or famed ones. If it where up to me, some weapons would only be available through special quests or accomplishments. |

Boycotting the game doesn't hurt Disney in any way, shape or form. If you are a limited player, then Disney doesn't get any money from you, and if you stop playing, a day, a week, or forever, it has absolutely no effect on Disney. If you are unlimited, and you stop playing, a day or even longer, Disney then is making money from you, and not even having to supply you with a product.
The only way to hurt Disney is for everyone who has an unlimited account to suddenly cancel their subscriptions, and THAT IS NOT GOING TO HAPPEN. If you want to have an impact, there is only one thing to do. That is to start an active write in campaign to Disney. Make out a very precise form letter, and get everyone onboard to send it to them every single day. Feedback is the players only answer. Not boycotting. I email Disney every single day about the change that allows people to walk through one another. I can't walk through a wall. I can't walk through an NPC. Why should pirates/players be able to walk through each other? I understood it from the perspective of the crowds and the invasions, but that no longer applies. The invasions occur less aften, and are attended by fewer players nowadays. This new system is extremely unrealistic, causes lots of less than desirable situations, and I WANT MY PERSONAL SPACE BACK! (Not to mention AFK pushing.) Back to your original point though; The drops have not proven to be the cure all that Disney thought they were going to be. What they have done is cause a lot of frustration in players like myself who have spent many long hours trying to find a single instance of the El patron, and still haven't gotten one. The drops have made it much HARDER for a smaller pirate to acquire the golld that they, of all players, really need. The poor player with the level 20 to 25 pirate can't earn the gold to buy a warship. I have gotten into the habit of not even bothering to open anything less than a skull chest. Loot pouches and treasure chests just aren't worth the effort, and then you just have to go sell the stuff. Selling takes time. The weapon drops should be just that, weapon drops! The old method of getting gold from every enemy wasn't broke, so why did they have to go mess it up?

I really don't care about the loot system. If I get the super weapon that will grant me super powers or not, I am fine. I don't fight the enemies to get a prize. I fight because its fun.
