HAppy Memorial Day
Memorial Day was initially started to honor those who fought and died in battle during war time. Over the years, it has changed a bit to include anyone who fought, then anyone who served, even if they didn't fight. Now it is also for other than the military.
I read this, it's not my own saying: "Thanksgiving is a day when we should all stop and give thanks for everything that we have. Memorial day is when we should stop and give thanks to all those who fought so that we can have it." Speaking as a veteran of more than 8 years of Navy service, I know what a hardship it can be, how hard duty is on your life, your family and your own well being. So, for everyone who has served, whether it be in the military, or as a policeman, firefighter, or in any other capacity, I salute you, and offer my heartfelt THANKS!

Happy Memorial Day to everyone who loves this country, those who died for it, live for it, fight for it, respect it, and pledge their allegiance to it! Thank those who give us that freedom, and bless anyone willing to give their lives for the rest of us! Men and women in all branches, thank you!!! Especially my Navy husband

I second all of the above and my heart goes out to the kids of active servicemen and women , who are waiting at home..my prayers are for their family members safe return.
As a military brat and having had three brothers serve as well, (losing one who was a fine Marine), I do a lot of heavy thinking today. Thanks be to all who answer the call, and thanks to all who work in jobs that help them, and support them... |

Lest We Forget! Thanks to all that have posted in Honor of our fallen soldiers-many did not meet their fate in battle, but continue to fight what battle has done to them. Beautiful poem, Kid! It's starting to rain outside-reminds me of all the tears that have been & will be shed....
