Jumpy/jerky game?
I have an issue similar to what was posted below about the 'stutter stepping' in SVS, but mine is happening the whole game. Its worst when I'm attacking an enemy. I hit them with, for example, a Bane Shot or what have you and they react to the attack but their health takes a second to go down. When I kill an enemy I know for a fact that the health is depleted but the enemy takes a second to actually vanish and drop treasure/money. It actually keeps attacking as well.
This is also a problem in the regular game as I will be running around doing whatever and someone will pass me (not just anyone, but literally all the players I pass) and it looks like they're doing the speed glitch from SVS. It's a very jumpy or jerky motion. This actually started when the most recent 'big update' happened. I've tried switching from OpenGL to DirectX 9, clearing out my cache...I'm kind of lost on what to do now. I'm refusing to contact the game techs until I have an idea of what to do or at the very least what to ask (no matter what, they always blame it on my internet being wireless, which oddly enough has NEVER been the issue when I've had game problems with this or any other game). Anyone got any ideas of anything else I can try before I have to resort to live chat? If it helps any, I'm on an Inspiron 1520 running Vista, I've got the latest NVIDIA graphics driver for my PC (which I acutally downloaded right after the big update). I try to keep off laggy servers if I'm doing something I know will lag but even on the quietest of servers this still happens. I'm not really sure what else to do... ![]() Thanks! |

I am thinking you are talking about what is ether called Lag or as you said Jumping. There are many thing that cause this action. It can go to how much RAM your comp has, to how many people are on the game, how many programs are running on your comp, even too how many people are useing the Internet in your house at once.
I am not able to tell you how to go into codeing, or how to make it so you can get free RAM, But the best thing for any normel person to do is ether 1 of three things or better yet all. 1. Right before I play I reset my comp or shut it down for 3 to 10 mins and turn it back on and play, This seems to make the comp run faster for a short gain. 2. Make sure you do not have any other programs running, like an Internet Explorer up. Another way to cut lag to the game is to change your graphis in the game too low. Or to turn of your Compas bu pushing "C" on the key board. 3. The best thing I think to do is to run your "Disk Clean-up" "Disk Defragmenter" To get to these 2 thing from Vista, First go to the "Start" At the Botem Right Corner of the comp screen. Then Click " All Programs " And click the Accessories. Next go to "System Tools" And they should be there. These 2 programs will free up your memory so your comp will run faster, but they make take a while to run. Hope this helps mate and good luck! =D And if you need me to explain any of the things i told you just PM me at any time and I'll try to take some step-by-step screen shots and post them for you. =D Ben Lockshot ~Gm of GoT~ Lvl 50 |

Sadly this is a whole different situation than lag (well, different than any I've experienced before, I've played around 2 1/2 years now). I actually defrag'ed my computer about 3 days ago after having this issue when I popped on for a while. No help whatsoever, game-wise. I keep nothing running in the background and if I open something I close it when I'm done. I've never thought of the computer restart before I play, I might have to test it out and see if it helps any. Thanks again!

Mebbe this could help someone......I finally managed to get the "unremovable" anti-virus off my puter...the one that runs in background constantly , and has huge footprint,,,and comes with no exit on it....while I was working on things I decided to empty the game cache like was mentioned, and I had been having probs with the 'foxy' browser I had used on my old puter for years...I uploaded a popular search engines new browser(there is a pretty good basic anti-virus packaged in said search engines 'pack"...and rebooted...so I can't tell you which helped the most...but the lag is gone for me on most servers..I jumped around a bit to ones I was on early am when I stuttered the most...anybody wants details about what I can't post, pm me....also I am running XP pro...64-bit...very good nvidia...updated drivers..etc....and I change the dx graphics api to 8 when things get to buggin on dx9, which is fine for me most of the time...but not when maintenance hasn't been done or whatever,,,sometimes it works....so far so good anyway

I'm having the same issue with my graphics 'jumping' . This is a new phenomenon.. my computer is under a year old and has NVIDIA graphics with 1 Gig on board the graphics processor alone ( 4 Gigs RAM). I have had no issues with graphics at all until yesterday when I experience the jumping you were describing. You are right, this is not the same as lag. IDK what is causing it or why things are different but it is very irritating and makes SVS near impossible.

Oh I think I know nwhat you are talking about now, I had this problem only a few times but when I logged out and came back on it was fine. But if it is with the Graphics the only thing I would know what to do is update your video card.
You can do so at this site. http://game.amd.com/us-en/drivers_catalyst.aspx I hope this helps this time. If not it is probely something wrong with the game and you might have to call Disney. But I hope this works =D Ben Lockshot ~Gm of GoT~ Lvl 50 |

I updated my graphics card (again) with the same update I installed not a week ago. It seemed to help significantly. I was in a huge crew on a quiet server last night at Tormenta and had no major problems to speak of, then went sailing and had no major issue there either. I haven't tried a busy server or SVS yet but hopefully just re-installing the driver update was the solution. /shrug. Good luck to ye, Kat, maybe after the next update we will have our stuff back to normal!
