I have a question about the test server.Once i join can i still go on open too?

Of course you can. In fact you can play both at the same time.

As Finch said, you can go on both at the same time if you want to.

The test and open servers are two different versions of the game, so being on one doesn't deny access to the other.

heck yeah but hwen you sign on test you have to make a new pirate which i think is um weird.

Yeah, and annoying. I really want to use my lvl35 that I have on open but since I had to make a new pirate for test, I'm only lvl7.

The idea of starting a new pirate on test: You need to test everything a pirate must go through on his/her climb in Notoriety. I, myself, forget alot that I do not have my Noto 50 pirate on test, but it's all good. Because, I also enjoy the events & quest leading up to increase in Notoriety. Although, me pirates do end up in jail alot because I forget I am not that strong!

Yeah I just joined errr I think a year ago, if less not much less. I figured that out too. You'll like it though. Cause it'll give a bored open pirate something to do until the update goes onto open.

Yes, two separate servers. Yet you cannot transfer your pirate from Open to Test, which really, really sucks. I would sign up for Test right away if it wasn't for that...

What would be the point of every pirate on test coming in at the exact same level? How would the effect of, say the inventory system be tested on a level one and then compared to a level 50? And how else do they find out stuff like that? Is the tutorial working correctly? Do low level enemies fight properly? And so on...

The test server has actually turned Unlimited players into basic players so they can get more data on changes to basic game play.

It's a test server people. Not your new sandbox. Testing is essential and without it there are no updates. If you aren't about sending in reports, testing every aspect of the game, including the parts you don't care for, then test isn't really for you anyway.
