I have been rallying for this FOREVER, all Disney says is to change servers, to put them on ignore, to report them, all useless stuff!!! Inconveniences the Captain and crew and does nothing to the trouble maker, not to mention that if you leave a server like Abassa and amass a nice big crew, now you may spend a LONG time to regain such a similar crew,,, if you even do...
I know D wanna do good but it's ironic how their own GM's KO people when acting up at an event because some folks dont cooperate and such...,,, Why dont you GMs put the player on ignore or change servers yourselves!?!?! Practice what you preach, mates! They can simply add a plank, a brig on the ship from which they can leave at any time and end up on land just like when we all go to jail, booting off a ship is available on ship PvP... DISNEY! Get it together, mates !!! ALLOW BOOTING ON ALL SAILING SETTINGS!!! |

Ah! And I got a warning letter from the game for using the words, wait for this... "Boo hoo" as a response to a threat!!! And "Noob" as a response to an insult to me... I complained back, their answer as lame as it could be,,, change servers, ignore them, report them!?!? USELESS...

Point #1) Walking the plank animation already exists in the opening tutorial. Should be extremely trivial to add it into the regular game.
Point #2) The "Boot from ship" button exists already but is inexplicably disabled. Even without the animation, there is no excuse for it being disabled in regular sailing. Point #3) A person booted should go to jail, not to their port of call. Point #4) A captain that abuses the button will have no crew his next voyage out. Inherently self-correcting. (This phenomenon can be seen in SvS today.) The fact that the captains bonus is exactly the crew bonus X 10, means that a captain abusing the feature right before landing, will hurt themselves as well. Point #5) Disrespecting the captain was NEVER tolerated in pirate times. Yelling "PORT" to the captain is not only rude, it is distracting to the entire crew. In a dicey situation that is the last thing needed. Point #6) Boarding a ship is something done with the captain's (or boatswain's) permission. Setting "public" should allow people to request permission to board. NB: in today's navy, one must salute the flag, then the boatswain and then request permission to board. That has been a maritime custom since ancient times. Point #7) Most of the times I've sunk my ship have been intentional, to get rid of unruly passengers. (On January 23rd, I accidentally sunk. All the other times I've sunk this year - at least 20 times - have been to get rid of miscreants.) Point #8) People boarding my ship should automatically be removed from their old crew and automatically added to my crew. Someone "escaping" my crew and launching their own ship should automatically be removed and automatically start their own new crew. Sidenote: In real life, a crew inherently *is* the people aboard a ship - rarely if ever (now or historically) a gang of compatriots on land. Once you set foot on shore, technically, you are no longer part of the crew. Why POTCO has to have its own conflicting definition of what a crew actually is, is misleading and confusing. Point #9) Someone who is booted off a ship might even learn to be polite. OK, OK, that's a really big "might" - but hey, I can dream. It is unbelievably frustrating to open my ship to public for the well-being of other pirates on a busy server, only to be swarmed by nincompoops. I don't open my ship because I need sailing rep - sailing is usually the first thing I master no matter how hard I try to save it for last. I open my ship to be courteous, so that others can get some cannon rep. To have my good intentions and good actions undermined by rude fools, is absolutely horrid. |

For point 8, if they launch their own ship I take them out of crew. However, there are times when my guild is fleet sailing and others may join us. In this case it is convenient to have all the captains in a crew.

I've exploited that bug also, for guild events I've hosted. That doesn't mean it isn't wrong. It also doesn't mean it shouldn't be fixed.
