February Begins and Nothing New on Test
Hey everyone, I just wanted to see what you guys thought of the long wait so far with nothing new on test. I mean is disney just planning on doing "re-runs" of previous invasions or whats next? Again im not annoyed, im just wondering and im curious to know why its been awhile with nothing new.

The fact that is has been so long leads me to believe they are planning on releasing something big. That is just a guess, but it is probably going to happen. I said in another post a while ago (and although its a guess, it could be the case), last year when they planned on releasing the Kraken (or something else, the Kraken was just what everyone assumed) on March 17th, they more than likely encountered an issue, and planned on releasing it the next time that date comes by. If nothing is released this month, I am willing to assume March 17th we will have something big.

I don't believe Disney is doing re-runs, but is making certain that the new Keg Haulers actually pass the test. They have been added to the PR invasions which I had never seen before. So, maybe Big D is just TESTING to make certain that the invasions on open aren't glitched like in the past? I, like Sven, also believe something is in the wind & am excited about events to come.

It is real, but it was released a long time ago. That was from one of the first stages of the game I believe, it was never actually released to the current game.

The invasions have gone from a point as being a new piece of content to entertain the masses, to just filler to keep pirates occuppied while they finish up some newer content. Seeing as how speedy they have been in adding new content in the past few months or so, this medium-sized gap between releases, most likely signifies that a big update is on its way (which we can probably expect anywhere from a week to half a month from now.)
The picture in Keep's post is all the way back from when the game originally launched back in 2007. The gameplay shown was probably just a promotional thing to draw in interested would-be pirates, and theres no real evidence to support if that was actually taken from Open, or even Beta for that matter. A lot of the promotional things that we see from the game are often from Alpha, so theres a large possibility they have already done away with that, as they did with Alpha. (although there is pictures of the Kraken's development in the phase files, which could hint of a possible Kraken in the far-off future.) |

Aye there is already a thread started today regarding when the next update will come out. I am sure there will be more of them over the next month or so. It seems one is not enough here for some reason.
As I said over there I think late March will be the next big update. I have no basis for this other than the period of time they ran each Invasion before moving on to the next island. They added the Keg Runners and that may set the time out a little. So i say late March. Captain Whale |

I still like the invasions, especially since I started doing them with my alt pirate who spends more time in jail than fighting...lol
