Something more than invasions?

Hey the invasions have been happening for a while. So when i was going through the earlier game insider i noticed a couple of things. They gave a hint that the invasion was coming :

"During a recent gathering of Gypsy mystics, island spirits were heard to whisper Jolly Roger is on the move once again - and that he is planning an invasion! Exactly where, no one knows because Jolly's magic is so powerful that he vexes the spirits and often misleads them. But they are sure about this ... expect an invasion of the main islands soon - and be prepared to fight mate ... for the islands, and - for your very soul!"

Now other than that i noticed one more thing in the insider:

"New enemies have been spotted roaming the islands - doing whatever they can to stop you from becoming the most notorious Pirate in the Caribbean. Ruthless Executioners, vile Ancient Flytraps, nasty Navy Marines, and other beasties will now challenge you in your quest for fame and fortune!"

Now these enemies have nothing to do with the invasion, so i decided that I'd check the grog blog for more information :

Is it that they were trying to just let more players know that there were more enemies in the Caribbean or that there is something more bigger to come?
Also from a conference in L.A one pirate here found out some more information about what's going to come. One of the things to come are supposed to be cannon-defenses of sorts for islands, and only recently Captain Rott offered us a parley and warned us of a new powerful weapon of Jolly Roger ( a cannon or something ),so i have my doubts on whether the new story chapter is to come yet.....

This thread discusses some of this stuff regarding cannons and such. The cannon defenses were mentioned out of a LA interview with some young kids on things they were thinking about putting in the game.

Aye Midhav, I read Disney Potco too. Always trying to get the most info possible with this huge caribbean! Hey, I was on a skeleton flagship the other day, and I know the cannons are different. They are rusted, have some barnacles on them, and are very creepy. . . could this be what Ezekiel Rott was telling us by a "new weapon"? Sincerely, William Swordcastle
