The Following be an invitation to ALL PIRATES of the Caribbean to attend a special event Saturday, August 22nd, 2009.

Come hear of the tales, sing some shanties, show of your weapons and tell us your skills.

Come hear the words of our Captain and GM’s retold.

We hope you all will join us this Saturday Evening at 5:00 pm to 6:00 pm (pst)
August the 22nd, 2009. We will gather at the docks of Tortuga on the Antik Ocean

We are aware that many Pirates were not able to make this weekends event with our Captain Walter and the GM’s and we would like to extend this invitation in a continuation in their honor to bring you the news you may have missed.

In a ongoing effort to inform Caribbean Pirates of the warnings from our Captain and GM’s,
We are having a Founders Association and Pirates Association Pre-War Gathering.

There has been some vital news intercepted and we look forward to sharing this with the Pirate Brethren of the Caribbean in this role playing event hosted by the Founders and Pirates Association.
As with the GM Hosted Events, unless asked to do so by the Founders of the Association in connection with specific weapons display moments, please keep yer weapons stowed during the event. Please be respectful to your fellow pirates - DO NOT participate in disruptive behavior.

Special Event taking place - Race Around The Caribbean - Pre War Event

The Following are the Event Description and Rules for this first every joint operation between L.o.G. and TBC!

Race Around The Caribbean – Pre War Event

“Race Around The Caribbean”
Long have been the days that swashbucklers from far and wide have sailed the sapphire seas of the Caribbean. Through years of hard work, blood and sweat, pirates have made these waters a place to call home.

With the coming tides of the oncoming and eminent War upon our homeland, the time for Pirates from all over the Caribbean to Hoist their Colours to show the EITC and Jolly Roger who really controls the oceans!

In honor of our salty forefathers a Grand Regatta shall be held as a tribute to the Mastery of the Seas.

The Race will take place right after the Founders and Pirates Association Pre-War Gathering and will start off the NORTH COAST of TORTUGA, ANTIK Server, unless the server is too crowded; if such is the case, we will choose an alternate quiet server so our event does not interfere with regular game play and unsuspecting pirates not involved with the event.

This is NOT an SVS Competition!

Objective:
Complete 2 laps around the course and be the first vessel to cross the finish line @ TORTUGA to win.
Racers will line up on the North Coast of Tortuga behind the SvS Ship “STORM KING”.
The Race will begin when the STORM KING fires her deck cannons sending a volley of FURY and FIREBRAND over the Starting Line.
The STORM KING will Fire her Deck Cannons, sending a volley of FURY and FIREBRAND at passing ships as they pass by on their laps to acknowledge credit for the lap, as well as the WINNER of the Race on the 2nd Lap.
You MUST COMPLETE 2 Laps to win the race.

Vessels: (Ship Type)
Ship class used for the race will be the LIGHT SLOOPS ONLY.

Rules of Engagement:

Racers may have a full crew or they may sail on their own.
NO SHORTCUTS will be allowed.
CAPTAINS MAY USE FULL SAIL COMMAND.
CAPTAINS MAY USE RAMMING SPEED COMMAND.
CAPTAINS MAY USE OPEN FIRE COMMAND.
CAPTAINS MAY USE TAKE COVER COMMAND.
CAPTAINS MAY USE THE TACKING MANEUVER COMMAND.
CAPTAINS MAY USE THE LEADERSHIP COMMAND.
CAPTAINS MAY FIRE THEIR BROADSIDES.
If you are SUNK along the course of the race you are done.

Course:
STARTING / FINISH LINE : 2 WAR FRIGATES will mark the Starting Finish Line, 1 of which will be the STORM KING, Captained by Roxanna Redcrow of Clan Storm.
Race layout is sailing around all of the Outskirt Islands of the map starting at Tortuga and racing in a counter-clockwise course.
KEEP THE ISLANDS TO YOUR LEFT AS YOU PASS THEM. (PORT SIDE)
IF YOU ARE SAILING, AND AN ISLAND IS ON YOUR STARBOARD SIDE (RIGHT SIDE) YOU ARE OFF COURSE.
The race will consist of 2 full laps around the Caribbean.
Judges will be placed at the coastal rim of designated Island Check Points serving as Gateway Buoys
Judges will also be placed at designated areas in between the designated Island Check Points and serving as Marker Buoys to insure that Racers stay on course.
Racers will on the RIGHT SIDE of Gateway and Marker Buoys for the laps to count.
KEEP THE JUDGES SHIPS (SVS SHIPS) AND THE ISLANDS ON YOUR LEFT SIDE AS YOU PASS THEM TO STAY ON COURSE.

Referees & Lookouts:
Judges will Captain SVS Vessels to act as Gateway Buoy Markers. (20 total needed)
The Judges will need to form 2 crews, 10 Captains on Each Team (French & Spanish).
1 Judge Captain per Vessel and close your ships permissions to other users to prevent any friendly fire.

Finish Up:
After you have completed 2 laps of the course, port into Tortuga and wait on the docks for the announcement of the race results.
We will be announcing the TOP 5 racers during the results announcements after all of the racers have completed the course.
Winners will be posted with their Name, Guild Affiliation and Ship Name in the L.O.G. Forums site, Founders Forum Site & TBC POF Forums.

Pre War Discussion Event Wrap Up

A big round of applause be in order for ALL the pirates that made Saturday a day to remember! For MANY pirates, it was the biggest and longest EVENT seen thus far! CHEERS!

The Beaches and Docks of Tortuga were crawling with every sort of swashbuckler imaginable, not to mention the mounds of empty Rum bottles scattered across the beach from Happy Hour!

This night taught us a lot. It showed us that there are dire winds blowing into our blue waters, winds that could shake the very foundations of our island homeland.
We saw, that through co-operation toward a common goal, pirates CAN work together and share the bonds of unity that hold us together. As for the event itself, the turn out was an awesome sight to behold. Pay heeds all ye pirates that heard the words of Captain Rott from the “Cassa de Meurte” or “House of the Dead” guild. Take to heart the advice of Captain Walter of the Marceline Guild. Not All gold is worth its luster!

Concerning the Race Event…

Over 20 ships competed at the start of the race! Not all were able to survive the treacherous waters, though their efforts remain just as valiant as a show of Good Form. The Following are the ships that DID complete the course! If ye see these mates about, give them a pat on the back for proving their skills and mastery of the seas!

Mystical Runner – Was in first place on the final lap up to Isla Cangrejos where she was sunk in the final turn for the finish line. Ye raced a very good race whoever you may be!

Wicked Witch – Disqualified for cutting the course.
