It's at the end of At World's End after the credits... there's no way they can just obliterate Will and Elizabeth after that lol

Knowing what a Fan I am one of friends sent this to me from some gossip website. Is it true , no idea , not posting it as fact just as what it is, gossip.
Though the movie is still in its pre-production stages, there could be some trouble ahead for getting the next Pirates of The Caribbean movie off the ground. And that trouble's name is Johnny Depp. Though he surprised a packed house at the Disney D23 expo last week in full Captain Jack Sparrow attire to promote the next film, the sudden departure of Disney chairman **** Cook has the actor dismayed about the continuation of the project. This past weekend, he opened up to the LA Times about the move, saying that there is "a fissure, a crack in my enthusiasm at the moment." **** Cook was the reason Johnny had signed up for the Pirates projects from the beginning, and with him gone, and with new suits in place and the script only provisionally complete, Johnny's commitment to Pirates may falter out of loyalty to his friend. No Johnny, no Jack, no movie. |

Auditions have begun for POTC4.
My guess is that since Johnny is a man of his word he will go forward with his appearance in POTC4; I can't believe they would have begun auditions if they weren't 100% certain that Johnny was still on board for the project. As for Will and Elisabeth, Kiera Knightley has stated more than once that she has no desire to appear in any more POTC films. *shrugs* No telling if she'll stick to that or not. |

I'm sorry Pirategirl09 - I'm not privvy to where the auditions are being held. I'm not "in the know". My guess would be the west coast.
But here's news of Geoffrey Rush's participation in POTC4 courtesy of Mim!E at JohnnyDeppReads.com, via this website http://moviesblog.mtv.com/2009/09/23...-in-the-spring: Before news broke that Johnny Depp is considerably less psyched to step back into Jack Sparrow's boots for a fourth "Pirates of the Caribbean" following the exodus of Disney studio chief **** Cook, MTV News had a chance to chat with franchise co-star Geoffrey Rush about the developing project. The Australian actor said he's definitely set to reprise his role as nefarious Captain Barbossa, and has been told to keep his schedule open for a possible start to filming next spring. Said Rush to Josh Horowitz: "They're waiting for the screenplay writers to put together something that's beyond the trilogy, take it off into a new direction so that it's fresh and hopefully really interesting for an audience, that they're not going to just sausage-machine out something else, which wouldn't be so good." Of course, it remains to be seen how, if at all, Cook's departure will affect "Pirates." Can what Depp called "a fissure, a crack" in his passion for the Jerry Bruckheimer-produced film be healed by the spring? All speculation for now. For his part, Rush was firmly committed to the franchise as of early last week. And, to be honest, he didn't know much about how everything was coming together. Even the newly announced title—"Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides"—caught Rush by surprise. "No, no one tells me anything!" Rush complained. "Jerry Bruckheimer—get your act together! Call me!" |

So I googled auditions for POTC4 (may just consider trying it out.. You never know right?) Anwhoo... Included in the information is a quick overview of the supposed 'story'. Now I just looked over this real quick so I don't know 1. If what I found is the official audition information or 2. If this story line is even correct. But I figured I'd share it anyways:
EDIT: Oops, just looked it over and it says your not allowed to copy any information from the site so I can't include it. Does that mean I can't share the link too though? But from what it's saying it looks more like a blast from the past type film? Not sure I like the idea if its true :/ |

Bad news folks, since Richard Cook was dismissed there has been problems.
Entertainment Weekly Issue 1068, October-6-09, published this piece of news.. A longtime Disney chief leaves. What does it mean for the future of the studio — and for Pirates of the Caribbean 4? Shock waves are still coursing through Hollywood a week after Walt Disney Co. studio chief **** Cook unceremoniously departed after 38 years of service. (He began his career in 1971 as a monorail operator at Disneyland.) Little reason was given as to why Disney's CEO, Robert Iger, chose to drop Cook, but it's clear from Iger's previous comments during earnings calls that he was not satisfied with underperforming films this past year, like G-FORCE and Bedtime Stories. ''We've had a rough year,'' said Iger. ''It's not the marketplace. It's our slate.'' Iger's recent actions also suggest that the CEO has no desire to continue business as usual. He swiped DreamWorks out from under Universal back in February, and just last month he surprised the town by purchasing Marvel Studios for $4 billion. ''Sooner or later, you're the traditionalist, you're the 59-year-old guy saying no to doing things differently,'' says one insider of Cook's ousting. ''You tell your boss no too many times, and it's a problem.'' Questions remain as to why the dismissal was handled so coarsely — Cook casually stepped into his boss' office Sept. 15 only to leave with his walking papers — especially considering his excellent relationships with filmmakers like Robert Zemeckis, Steven Spielberg, and Jerry Bruckheimer. Also uncertain is the status of Disney's much-anticipated Pirates of the Caribbean 4. Both the film's producer, Bruckheimer, and its star, Johnny Depp, have made it clear how disappointed they are over Cook's departure. (Depp told the L.A. Times, ''There's a fissure, a crack in my enthusiasm,'' for returning to the role of Jack Sparrow.) Few believe that means Bruckheimer and Depp won't participate in the project. ''It's posturing now. If the script's decent and the money's there, they'll re-sign,'' says one source. Still, with all the changes at Disney, and more sure to come, Pirates 4 may happen with the Mouse House looking like a completely different animal. — Nicole Sperling |

Well, I'm a Johnny fan hardcore so it's not like I'm an Orlando fangirl or anything but I'm still hung up on how this can happen (possible spoiler)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XEyCrbY675E and then not have any sort of follow-up on it lol.. even a quick cameo would be sufficient. |

Same here PG09! i'd be content to be a random extra! that would be a fantastic experience AND quite an addition to an actor's resume... just sad that Jack Davenport is apparently not coming back from the dead

What's a Pirates movie without Davy Jones now? If it weren't for Davy Jones, Jack Sparrow wouldn't have gotten the Black Pearl now would he?
![]() Would have been cool if it was a prequel, but apparently no.. Atleast have Jolly Roger in the movie, it might get more pirates for the game! No Villain, no story. They already killed off Davy Jones who's story seemed far from over and they killed off Beckett, who's story also seemed like it wasn't over yet ("What mark did he leave on you?" Yeah Beckett! What mark did Jack leave on you?) But they're probably going to be spoil sports and include no Jolly Roger, and they're obviously not going for a prequel. Another Pirates movie seems to bode ill for me, whether it's because i wasn't to thrilled about the third movie i dont know. Im leaving my rant at that.

Well on the Audition site, the movie is sooo different. It’s like a flashback!! I personally, don't like it at all. Jack goes with this man (puppeteer) and his daughter and their ship is captured by pirates, which is when he becomes a pirate. Then they somehow travel to Atlantis and such. I mean, if he becomes a pirate then it has to be a flashback right? If this is the way they are going with it, I’m not too thrilled. I am really looking forward to a fourth movie, but if that’s the story, I say stop at the third in that case.

you arent curious as to the backstory of any of the other three? i think a prequel is a great chance to meet our two wanted captains and get a better insight to their characters!
the only thing i fear, is another Indiana Jones and the crystal skull travesty! that was definately one that should have stopped at three. i dont want pirates to suffer the same fate. (by the way, i refuze to acknowledge the aforementioned movies existance) |
