Unhappy Level 50 Ponderings...

Hi folks...

I log on and play a little each day, and am in NO way in a hurry to get to 50.
(Im taking my time and enjoying actually having something to do!)

But, I have to ask - I keep seeing people at level 50, some with weapons totally mastered, some not. After talking to a LOT of friends and a LOT of random people - I have to ask, is it possible for most of these players to have already leveled to 50 without glitches?

I'd hate to say it, but the discussion in game leans towards people using glitches to speed to 50, or standalone programs to get there. (Which I was told about all week - tons of people are talking about speed glitches and more.) Its just hard to believe with the time it was taking people to get to level 40 even from 37 and up - that in this short time, people have done 10 levels fair and square.

Now - I personally don't care, but doesn't it suck a little fun out of it, or cheapen level 50 for those playing? The more Im on pirates, the more people Im seeing 'speeding' and even certain Guilds that seem to be using glitches more. You can visit Abassa Tuga for a few minutes at night to see some 40+ players who admit to glitching, or are visibly glitched - they stand around so much, I highly doubt they spend all their time on leveling. =/

We've already seen one level 50 who mentioned a 'weapons glitch' or 'secret weapon' for leveling, so I'd hate to say it, but that instance alone makes me question the integrity of many who've raced to level 50.

Again, play the way you want - but, I wish we knew who did it the intended way vs. the easy way. I'd certainly respect it alot more.

You can be sure that I am lvling the old fashioned way but that is just this pirates way of doing things. I know of some that have done it... either way... hear no evil, see no evil... I am just having fun counting the reps! It is actually going fairly quickly and smooth - yahoo!!

Ya know... racing to the finish line is not always a good thing.... lol

If you ever want to join my crew - we are all having fun and welcome you

Well, some of the reason it took people a long time to get to 40 from 37 is because most everybody quested and leveled, leaving the weapons they like least, for last (at least thats the mistake i made), making it harder and more tedious for them to work up the nerve to just go do it.

I've heard of a method that takes place on outcast. You stand next to the npc and keep healing yourself as you use every weapon to get max rep. Which isn' t a glitch, but certainly a loop whole.

Whatever that reason people are rushing to 50 is beyond me. Wouldn't ye like something to do until the new quests come out?

As a leisurely playing level 40 (halfway to 41) I can remember - back in the day - when someone hit 40, it was usually after quite a bit of serious leveling, and speed glitches/leveling glitches weren't something people used at all. When someone hit 40, it was a BIG deal.

Its just that I wish 50 was something that could be celebrated - I just cannot see anyone sitting at the computer THAT long leveling the way Disney intended to reach 50 THAT quickly.

I guess Congrats to those who raced there - but, if they cheated or glitched for it - I'm just not impressed. Well.. either way I'm not really - whats the fun in racing to Master when many of us wanted things to do. These players are cheating themselves and now have no reason to complain about nothing to do.

Create a new pirate and see how many days you can speed to mastered... thats fun. (rolls eyes)

So true Nelly. I know I'll be taking my time as well this round. I've begun to lvl with guild mates; rotating between healing and fighting- which makes it so much more fun! Not only am I getting to know me krewe mates better, Im also ENJOYING the game again.

When I was new to Pirates (and gaming in general for that matter) I was introduced to glitching. It seemed like an easy way to get 40. I was around 30's at the time. I hate to admit it, but I glitched a couple of times with my first pirate. When I finally did hit 40 I didn't feel proud or accomplished.. but rather ashamed. Now, I did lvl most of my first pirate the right way, but those few times I did glitch took the accomplishment out of reaching 40. So on my second pirate I made a promise to myself to do it the RIGHT way. When I hit 40 the second time, I have to say..it felt good to know I EARNED that Mastered title. I wish I hadn't cheated at all to begin with but I'm just glad I was able to realize my mistake and correct it. That's what counts in the end; admitting your wrongs and working to make them right.

As for those who are now hitting lvl 50 with the help of glitches, there is no real accomplishment. Yes you have a fancy title over your head but if you glitched to get there it really is meaningless. One must work for their goals, nothing in life is easy. If that's the way you do things fine by me. Just remember that when you cheat in life, you will never fully understand what it means to accomplish something, and therefore will never grasp what life is about.

“The road of life twists and turns and no two directions are ever the same. Yet our lessons come from the journey, not the destination.”
-Don Williams, Jr.

For those of you who have or will reach that goal of lvl 50 the honest way, I congratulate and applaud you. You should be proud of yourselves.

I agree, its a shame that a lot of people have to resort to glitches to hit level 50 "first"... the worst part, half those doing this were ones who complained about the cap in the first place!

But people can choose how they want to play is something else I agree with. I know of at least two people who have cheated their way to 50, and its a shame. But there isn't a thing you can do about it. Plus, if they want to be mastered, more power to them.. the rest of us won't feel the same way towards them.

People CAN hit level 50 without a single glitch, it just depends on how much they want to hit 50. I know of at least two people who have hit level 49, and one who hit level 50.. none did so with a glitch, and none of them bragged about doing so. They just spent a lot of time working for that rank, and thats nothing to be ashamed about.

Is glitching to 50 disappointing? Sure. Is there any reason to assume foul play because someone is already at 50? Absolutely not.

I'm with ya there Lady F, I'd be the first to bock at something like that, although cheating to level 50 is only something a fool would crow about.

Well - when it takes a long time to level - I have a hard time believing all these people did it without glitching. There is now a stand alone program that does the speed glitch - its all over the net.

I wouldn't touch it. I value my account too much to get banned or removed entirely. But - thats what everyone is talking about - including many of the Guild members and friends of the people jumping levels so quickly.

Of course the players themselves wont say a word... =/

I don't get the hurry myself & certainly not cheating to do it. I play several pirates myself. If I had only played with my first pirate Jade Willows she would be close to 50 now I suppose but I enjoy the differences of levels & personalities of all my girls so I set small goals for the day & play with the pirate of choice for that day or goal & then go on to another of my 10 girls. Some days I do more goofing around in Guild or just helping them with any leveling too. It is about enjoying the game & my friends ingame that keep me coming back!

Yes I have been on every day since the levels went up 8 to 10 hours a day.

I made 50 on Sun. all with out glitching, I did have friends healing me at tormenta when I was leveling. So yes there are some of us that did it the fair way.

But I will say from making it there is know way it can be done in 1 to 3 days like some did it with out cheating and the people that run the site should know this and take care of it. I dont care if they were on 24hrs a day NO WAY.

Thats my point! It takes time, regardless - I dont believe when I see people fly that quickly.

Recently, I saw a member who was a level 35 a few days ago, they are now a level 46. Does ANYONE really believe they did it fairly? (When most of the time, they are standing around at Tortuga?)

=( Unfortunately - the cheats make people question ANY level 50 who makes it there quickly.
