How do you get the most gold?
I'm just wondering (again), how do you get a lot of money, your way?
![]() I get mine by sinking boats.

Ship sinking by far. I bring in a average 600 a trip on my War Frigate.
The best spot to sink ships is off the coast of Padres Del Fuego.

I've gotten as much as 2200+ around driftwood island....... I too have my "Treasure Sense" maxed at rank 5. Quite a few gold chests, on average though I get around 1200 per outing.

If you are power training weapons at kingshead you make MUCH more than sinking ships because at sea you have lots of overhead by way of time spent getting to a good spot, chasing ships, returning to port, repairing, etc.
That said, the best way to make gold for a whole group is at sea since you all get credit. |

By far, the quickest way to get rich is to sail & plunder.
However, I've found it quite useful to take on a bunch of the townsfolk quests (Bartholomew of PR, for example) who give 35 gold for stuff you're already doing - and yes, many times you can "double dip" for the quests! I always carry a full load of townsfolk quests - and it's an easy teleport to go cash them in - you'd be surprised how quickly it adds up!! -Captain |

Seems to me that you get better gold from doing ships when you are a lower level character and you start getting more by killing enemy as you get to higher levels. The more of those treasure classes you unlock, the more you earn per kill and if you can power level in an area you can earn FAR more gold than on any ship run. No doubt about it.

Wow. I sailed on somebody's War Frigate today! That boat was huge, and it took a while to get up the stairs to the helm. Anyway, that thing made those boats seem little and helpless! I got about 400 gold, and even saw a Royal Chest for the first time! Sailing gets a lot more than I noticed, if you have the right boat.

I agree with WizardHawk. Power leveling at Kingshead gives the highest payoff for the time you spend with no investment of your own gold (unless you're using grenades or daggers). Even if you get your weapons to a level where you're not getting all that many rep points, the amount of gold stays the same.
I have a war frigate with 1 point on treasure sense, and I average 200-500 for a full hold if I go after the EITC war ships. But I always take major damage to my ship doing this, which is close to 100 to fix each time (180 if I end up in jail). I earned 2/3 of what I needed to buy the war frigate leveling the weapons at Kingshead.

Now that I got my staff, I find power-leveling works way better.
I get about 2k every thirty minutes if I solo it, and about 4000+ rep in thirty minutes. ( I find it works better when you have staff that you do it solo... only get 1/3 the rep when it's with someone else. )

Most of my Gold comes from plundering the sea. Second would be killing the Navy and Undead.

I can earn more gold leveling weapons at Kingshead than I can in the same amount of time spent sailing, AND I don't have to worry about ship repairs.
However, as my weapons levels get higher, it seems more worth it to sail for plunder because I earn more Notoriety. With my staff, I'll get between 3-30 gold for each soldier on the field (6-7 of them), but I only earn 3-4 rep points each. But with sailing, I can get sometimes 100 rep and over 100 gold for a single ship. Since I've already reached the gold cap twice, and it takes more and more points to level up my Notoriety, I'm finding sailing to be a better bargain, even though it means ship repairs and an occasional trip to jail.

By far the fastest and easiest way to get gold is by blaying poker on Padres Del Fuego (and winning). The stakes are way higher, and with only 4 other people playing I have won over 4000 gold in one round. The downside is that you can also lose big...
