i know how to get a scrolling name, but i dont know WHERE trivia IS can some one help me?

It is a seperate chat engine and there are different channels that have a # in front of the name. IRC stands for internet relay chat so you can talk in real time with other pirates. The trivia channel is #piratetrivia, when you are talking in that channel if there is not a trivia game going you type !trivia and killick should start asking you questions (killick is an eggdrop bot programmed for trivia and stats) you get the scrolly name by being in the top 10 scores on trivia at the end of every quarter of the year.

P.S. To get the full extent of IRC I recommend using mIRC instead of the java applet.

Thats for windows but if you are on a mac java is the only thing i know of, but im sure there are other applets.

To join the chat/trivia channels quickly, you can always use the direct link on the homepage of POF.

On the upper right hand side of the homepage, you'll see a box to enter a nickname. Choose the nickname you want (make sure it follows site rules and has no spaces) and then click the Chat Now button. It will open up the basic Java chat.

Once there, if you have more questions, an OP (person with @ symbol by their name) can help you out.

Personally, I prefer to use mIRC for the chat channels, but that's up to you.

For some people the PJIRC (whats on the homepage) may not work, because I believe it requires java. I know you can connect from Mibbit if you dont have Java. Sven connects via Mibbit when he has to, here is a link to connect to both of the POF channels:

schnoodel for telling me which place to be in to get the name, and sarah for telling me how to GET to pirate trivia
but, do you have to be in the top ten EVERY TIME to KEEP the green scrolling name?
also, my nick name is guest57, and i dont know how to change it to what i want, without taking away my trivia scores. if it is on guest57 will it still give ME the green scroll name?

To change your nickname, you type /nick (desired nick) , and it will start you over on points but in piratetrivia its not as bad as toontowntriv , in TTCtriv people get like 7,000 points so you like to stay with one nick for that one, and they ask each winner what there forum name is or match the ip's used if available and make sure the award gets to the right person. and no you don't have to win every time to get the scrolly name, i won twice so all another win does is give you another award, but ya the green name lasts forever.

well its not cheating, not all the questions on there are on there are on the scavenger hunt, and plus, thats been around longer then the scavenger hunt and the key to the scavenger hunt is there is only ONE rule, and thats don't tell each other answers. they basically leave it open to us to use whatever means possible.
