I am on the nill ofrill quest for the black pearl and i need to find a diamond on isla perdida. "amongs the undead" there is no undead on isla perdida...is there?

Actually, i was just helping my friend with that just now! You enter the perdida cave and find the place where its infested with wasps. Keep searching, its somewhere by a tree.

No, there aren't any undead in the cave anymore. There were in beta, but when they released the open version, for some reason they changed everything to wasps but didn't change the text in the quest.

Wasps are considered undead.

Look at Wizard's guide to the Wild Islands - found here - it shows where the dig spot is on Perdida. It's 'among' the undead - not from one of them. Any of the unnatural creatures are considered undead.

You need to go in the tunnel and across the water, the look for the trees that show in the picture in his guide.

Actually, wasps would be considered 'Living' not 'Undead'. Skeletons and Jolly Rogers crew are the Undead, everything else would be considered a living creature.

The wording on this particular quest is probably mistaken, as Disney has been updating quests and correcting the errors in the dialogue.

I reported it as a bug and I got a reply that they are working on fixing it. Probably in the next few updates.
