Game Timeline?

What time period is the game supposed to be set in?

It cant be before the first movie, since Elizabeth and Will know who Jack Sparrow is in the game, and they didnt meet him him until the first movie.

It cant be before the second movie(between 1 and 2), since Jack needs help getting the Pearl back, which he was the captain of at the end of the first movie and at the beginning of the second.

It cant be before the third movie(between 2 and 3), since Jack was "dead" at that time, and he is in game.

It cant be after the third movie since Will isnt the captain of the Flying Dutchman and Elizabeth's father is still alive(or at least she thinks he is, but she finds out he is dead in 3).

So when exactly is this game supposed to take place?

I'm pretty sure somewhere its supposed to be set in the first movie, with disney's own twist for the game, take it with a grain of salt though.

I don't think it's suppose to be "set" in the movie.

They are just taking the features and characters *from* the movies and just making it into a fun MMORPG game, that sits in it's own class

Exactly, This game is based on the POTC idea, not the POTC Movies.

Yes, the developers have always described it as a "parallel universe" to the films. Here's one quote from lead developer Mike Goslin:

"We’re building a parallel universe, so we haven’t locked our game to a specific point in the timeline of the films. We want the world to be as thrilling and rich as possible and we thought the best way to do this was to draw upon all of the best characters, enemies, settings, and events regardless of their location in the movie timeline."

I think it's supposed to set in the 1st and second movie becuase Tia Dalama is in there and you don't see her until the second movie

Nope, you need to read up a bit. Seems its some kind of parallel universe, something like that series sliders had I'm guessing.

There's no timeline to the POTCO ride and there's no timeline to the POTCO game. It's set in the 703968261087463rd movie. Hehe.
